    MCG,
I think I've got. Tebow needs to try out as a running back. It's been a big mistake. He just needs to go to the right position.!!!!

That was not a "miracle" throw to beat Pittsburgh Terry... it was a 20 yard dart that hit the receiver in stride and enabled him to break it.

Some things people don't know about Tebow:

"Despite missing significant time in high school, Tebow broke Florida’s all-time record for career TD passes with 95. He also owns the state HS record for passing yardage (9,940) and pass completions (631). Not bad for a guy who can’t throw. Oh yeah, he also ran for 63 scores and over 3,000 yards."

    http://astounde.com/the-tim-tebow-you-dont-know/

As a sophomore at Florida his passer rating of 177.8 was the second highest in the nation.

There is a reason Florida fans are stubborn on this issue and it's because we saw Tebow devastate many an SEC defense with his arm.

I will never buy the lazy cop out answer that "if NFL GMs say he is not a Qb.... then he's not" . They may not want him back there..... may never give him another chance.... but I think he has done it on the field and can still do it.

MCG....There have been many statistically great college QB's who didn't make it in the NFL. He was a great college player, who played on great teams with tremendous talent around him. His passing form in college was widely recognized as terrible.

Terribly efficient at times it seems.

He was a playmaker at Florida..... something the Gators have lacked ever since.

He was also a playmaker when he was the starting Qb at Denver....

.... but he is not a playmaker when hustled off the bench in an ill-conceived "wildcat" prayer of a formation when the opposing NFL defense knows what's coming.

That's exactly how he was used at Denver, they had a "special" Tebow package that accounted for the things he does do well, which is not drop back and throw.

They had a gameplan at Denver and allowed Tebow to manage the game.

That's one hell of a lot different than running him in on 3rd and 4 from the cold bench and then doing what the idiots at NY did... running him 90% of the time..... fooling no one in the process.

Tebow at Qb for Denver had three options.... hand off to Rbs.... throw downfield or run himself.

    I found very surprising information:

All time career passing efficiency leaders in the NCAA ( min 700 attempts ):

    1. Sam Bradford
    2. Tim Tebow
    3. Kellen Moore
    5. Colt Brennan
    7. Johnny Manziel
    8. Danny Weuffel
    9. Andrew Luck
    11. AJ Mcarron
    18. Aaron Murray
    23. Teddy Bridgewater
    35. Geno Smith
    41. Ben Roethlisberger
    53. Steve Young
    71. Peyton Manning
    147. John Elway

He had great stats in college, different game. Where are Kellen Moore, Colt Brennan, Weuffel, and guys like them now? There are some really great college passers not even on that list, and they never made it to the Pro's. I don't see Joe Montana on that list either. Based on stats Tim Tebow had a better college career than Joe Montana and I guess you remember what Joe did in the Pro's.

Tim Tebow is not in the NFL because he's not an NFL QB period. You can take that short stretch of games at Denver and try and make the case that there is some sort of conspiracy to keep him out of the game all you want, but if he were an NFL QB he'd still be playing ball in the NFL. You can say that they don't want the drama that comes with him, but there are many players out there that bring just as much drama and yet because of their talent they always have a job. Terrell Owens always brought a lot of drama, but he was also very talented. Tebow not so much, had a good string of games and is just another guy who won some games but nobody sees as a NFL QB. T.J. Yates I'm telling you.

I don't remember Tebow having to thread the needle much in college. His targets were usually wide open. And he threw a lot of those little 2 yard shovel passes as well.

Terry the thing is Tebow was only proven to be able to win games at the highest level in the NFL.... and was never proven to be a losing NFL Qb.
He just was twisting in the wind at NY and his rep badly suffered.

George check these college stats out:

    "
At the end of his college career, Tebow held 5 NCAA, 14 Southeastern Conference, and 28 University of Florida statistical records.[73] He was the SEC's all-time leader in career passing efficiency (170.8), completion percentage (67.1%), passing touchdown to interception ratio (5.5 to 1), rushing yards by a quarterback (2947), rushing touchdowns (any position) (57), and total touchdowns responsible for (145).[2][74] Among many mentions in the NCAA Division-I record book, Tebow is ranked second in career passing efficiency, third in career yards per attempt (9.33), "

He threw many long TD strikes at UF with a lot of air under them to granted some pretty good receivers like Riley Cooper.

He wouldn't be third all time in the NCAA in yds per attempt if all he did was dink and dunk.

And he played against arguably the top defenses in the nation in the SEC.
It wasn't the Boise Skymountain Blue Field Conference.

Sid..... you can just shrug it off.... so can AJ or anyone else.

But if you read the stats that I have listed in the last few posts and really digest them I'm willing to bet that you and everyone else is a little surprised to see just how balanced a player Tebow was and how productive he was as a passer.

The reason for the surprise factor is that in the last couple of years... facilitated by his weird disjointed stay with the Jets, Tebow has become another Eric Crouch in the minds of many..... which couldn't be farther from the truth.

Tebow was a great college player, his sophmore year he was just flat out amazing..but that's college. I'm sure you thought Danny Weurfel was a great QB as well and you could maybe even argue that as a passer he was a better QB than Tebow. NFL not so much.

There are no conspiracies in the NFL, if you have talent you will play. At QB some guys are never starters but are able to hang around because somebody thinks for the money that they are valuable as backups. Apparently nobody thinks Tebow is a valuable backup even. You keep hanging on to that string of games in Denver as proof that he's an NFL winner who should be starting or competing for a starting job on some team. But as I have said many times there are numerous QB's out there who had a string of games that they looked like they might make it but then they never do. Heck Vince Young was rookie of the year and made a pro bowl...but in the end he's not a NFL QB....one of the greatest college QB's I've ever seen though.

Some great college QBs leave their games behind when they go pro. Apparently Tebow was one of them.

Last time he played at home in Denver he was amazing.

The next game at New England his defense fell apart early and it was all uphill after that and that was his last NFL start.

It was great... great fun watching him lead what was then a decided underdog Denver team to a resurgent streak of exciting down to the wire wins. 4 OT wins in 2011 plus other comeback Ws led to the national Tebowing craze.

Frankly haven't had that much regular season NFL fun since.

TJ Yates, Danny Weurffel, Vince Young and many others.... they're no Tebow when it comes to the NFL.
