The body of the missing football player has been found in the university district. He apparently committed suicide by a self-inflected gunshot wound.

Very sorry to hear that, I think this whole head injury situation is going to be the end of football as we know it today unless they can get a handle on it.

There has to be more to this than a concussion. Sorry to hear that a young man couldn't find another answer.

I don't know Tom, there have been retired NFL players who committed suicide and left notes or had reached out to people before that leads you to believe that the did it due to the concussions/head trauma. Dave Duerson definitely did, and I"m not sure exactly if they ever declared Junior Seau's death a suicide.

Certainly in this young man's mind he was experiencing things that he blamed on his concussions.

Even taking suicide off the table as an extreme and low % outcome of the head trauma from football. There are hundreds maybe thousands of former football players living with some level of disability due to head trauma. The NFL tried to cover it up for years and now they are addressing it, but I'm not sure what they can do. They need some big break through in head protection that doesn't seem to be on the drawing boards right now.

I wouldn't recommend a young man play football to tell you the truth.

Bobda, the game actually went pretty much as I expected. As always, records mean nothing and fully anticipated a fight to the end against a proud bunch of M kids....it was however a sad and tragic weekend for us Buckeye fans. My lasting image of the game.....include me as a Devin Gardner fan for life - quality kid, class act

Thanks Bobda. Game was a lot closer than the final score. I expected a battle. We seem to bring out the best in Gardner...a class kid, as Terry has said.

Coach Meyer says Cardale Jones is having a great week in practice, for the big game Saturday night, in Indianapolis. Supposedly he has 4.5 speed which is a bit unusual, for a big man of his size.

His high school coach, Ted Ginn Sr., thinks he may be a big surprise for a lot of people. Coach Ginn has a long history with Cardale and his family, and all of the history is very positive.

Latest update on J. T. Barrett is that he also has a cracked bone in his right leg. He will be in a cast for six weeks, a boot for four weeks and then can walk freely. He should be ready for Spring football, but in a limited capacity.

    GO BUCKS!

I have not seen that on the M boards but only on the huge, steaming pile of dog **** otherwise known as NDNation.

No, I am still trying to figure out Terry's name on that site so that I can out him as having a secret Wolverine friend that he has been concealing from the posters at that fever swamp.

Bob I'm still hoping that UM hires Les before the ND/LSU bowl game, if they have to play with out the hat maybe we'd have a chance.
