You can't cross a bridge up here for under $10 George, You make a good point, I have many friends who have went into business for themselves in my arena of agriculture. These friends according to the IRS show that they make $500,000 to well over $1,000,000 per year in their businesses. Everyone one has confided in me that they miss the days of working for someone else because of the workman's comp insurance cost and other cost associated with private business. They might look great on paper with their gross revenues but the net return is less than what I am making. The norm is we can find all the work we want but getting paid for it is another story. I continually pay folks who have done contract work for me early and fast compared to others and these contractors would never make it if someone like me did not pay their bills early to cover the 90% that will pay in six months if they are lucky. Salary amounts look great on paper but what is the bottom line at the end of the day. You mentioned $10 bridge fees and we both know that is just one of a thousand other cost the elites fail to take into consideration when throwing arbitrary numbers out there.
re: "How did you grade out in that class?" The professor turned out to be a fair grader. I had A's on my tests and A's on my term paper and he gave me an A+, which is what I deserved. "Culture and Schooling" was the worst class that I ever took. Every one of the 50-60 students in there regarded it as garbage and a totally useless, waste of our time. Some of our textbooks included such left-wing gems as, "A Feminist Perspective on Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" and "Class Struggle in Disney Films: The Big Bad Wolf." I kid you not. Needless to say, this was fertile ground for an old Irish class clown like me: Professor: So tell me, why are all of the characters in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves white? JO'Co: Uh...because it was written in Germany 200 years ago? Professor: Why are all of the Disney villains always women? JO'Co: All of the heroes are women too. Their customers are mostly young girls. You can see that at Disneyland. Professor: You don't feel that the dwarves were exploiting Snow White? JO'Co: Nope. She wound up getting the castle, the prince and everything. The dwarves got the shaft... Professor: Was that an intentional pun? Mr. O'Connor, you need to take this more seriously... JO'Co: (Silence.) ( Jack Benny stare at the class.)
