Things are going okay I suppose Bill, and I hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving. I fear that if the Aggie boosters are as stupid as I know the wealthy Aggie boosters are, Chip Kelly is going to wind up at Florida State.

    Nobody wants that.

Well A&M did pay a lot of money for Coach "I refuse to say his name".

I don't understand how FSU got so bad so quick. I think part of it is when your qb is all of your offense, then you are in bad trouble if/when he gets hurt although that doesn't explain their defensive troubles.

Looks like Florida is giving up on Kelly and moving on. Frost?

I read that on SDS, KP. I wonder if he just said no?

Corey, either he just said no or wouldn't say yes. Florida should be able to do better.

agreed. I'll be interested to see who they come up with who is better. That's a pretty darn good coach.

It makes me wonder if they are going to make an all out push to grab Mullen. Of course, he can't win when his starting QB goes down either so I dunno.

I'm watching UCF right now and they are basically running Oregon's offense under Kelly with a bit more passing thrown in.

These are 2 good teams, it's a shame we have that power 5 BS in our playoff rules.

Once again Corey, this is like our discussion of Boise St. A few years ago. UCF has had 3 games cancelled and the quality of schedule is questionable.

I assure you the BigMoneyAggies are stupid enough... and from what I'm told it's already agreed.
    :x

So we'll be paying Kevin $10mil (due in full within 60 days) and then the $7mil buyout for Jimbo.

Yep, somebody has way more money than sense.

Kyle... you can say it, I'm the one who can't form that line of syllables.
I try, but all that comes out is: "Squeaky"!

    Besides... you should thank me.
We saved you from being driven into the dirt for the next guy to clean up.

Well what looked like a slam dunk when I posted this has turned into what now looks more likely for UCLA.

    Go figure.

I hope Scott Frost is willing to listen.

Or it may be Charlie Strong or Mullen.

A real downer for us Gator fans.

You can't blame the team for a hurricane.
UCF has destroyed everyone they've played except USF.

    Bill,

How about Taggart to Tennessee and Kelly returns to Oregon? :D I am hoping whoever you hire is someone that you guys really want, otherwise, you'll just be doing this in another 3 seasons.

Scott, I won't say his name because of the way he snuck out of Tuscaloosa. There are very few people that I have absolutely no respect for and he is one of them.

I wasn't sold on Kelly having the commitment or skills to compete in the SEC week in and week out.

Didn't in the NFL..... and the SEC has many fast and physical defenses like the NFL.

Recruiting can be bountiful but the competition is fierce.... with every southern team raiding Florida for talent including in state Miami and FSU.

Dave we spotted you guys 15 years and both you and FSU for the most part did great gathering in-state talent along with just about everyone else but we are terminating our outside lease and taking it back for our feeding grounds..

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA

First of all, coaching in the NFL and college is an apples and oranges comparison. But I'll play along... he took a 4 win Eagles team and turned them into a 10 win club in 1 year. He's just the 2nd coach in the history of the NFL to win a Division title in his 1st year. He won 10 games again in his second season. He had a 6-8 record in his 3rd year in which he was fired.

The SF deal was a no win situation for anyone.

BTW, comparing SEC defense to NFL defense is an absolute JOKE.
    1. It's a different game due to the hashmarks. There's never been an SEC defense that is as good as an NFL defense. Hyperbole aside, the very best SEC defense has SOME even a majority of guys who will be good enough to play in the NFL. In the NFL, every defense is good enough to play in the NFL.

You remind me of those parents who talk about 'sure fire pro prospects' when the kid is 12.

Since he wasn't good enough for Florida, we'll just go ahead and relieve you of those table scraps. We think he'll do just fine for what little expectation we have.

Well I was sold that he would do great for Florida.

This sucks but we just have to move forward.

I seriously have had reservations about C Kelly at UF from the start.

Whoever it is will have to be a strict disciplinarian or forget it.

I wonder if that describes Chip Kelly?

And I do have reservations about his game vs. SEC defenses or possibly his attention to his own defenses. He's better suited to the PAC 12 in my opinion.

You obviously know nothing about Chip Kelly.
