    <t>With all due respect to you Gator fans. do any of you honestly think that Tim Tebow will be the starting QB for ANY NFL team? I didn't say anything about his College career, I'm asking if you think he will be a starting QB in the NFL?<br/>
    <br/>
    It's not gonna happen. That offense is not going to work in the NFL. <br/>
    <br/>
    He's a fine/great college player. He's not an NFL QB. Clausen is.</t>

    Yeah I'd have to agree with Bill that the Gators wouldn't be better with Clausen. They would be different and maybe they would be just as good, but you have to give the Gators under Tebow and the Meyer offense the respect that they deserve. They have been great.

    It's hard to imagine Texas being better with Jimmy Clausen either. Jimmy couldn't do what Colt does for that offense, but then Colt couldn't do what Jimmy does in the Notre Dame offense.

    I think Scott is correct about the McCoy/Texas offense. We throw the ball East/West and then get the yards after the catch. We do throw it down field some but it's the dinks and dunks that kill you. Our running game hasn't been great because it's mostly and East/West running game as well. But our offense has scored a lot of points. Maybe with an Pro Style QB like Jimmy, Greg Davis would go back to the Chris Simms offense. We do have recievers who are big and fast and have pretty good hands. Jimmy could do a lot with our WR's and RB's in a Pro Style offense that Colt just doesn't have the arm to do.

    Well Tim, what we do know at this point is what they both did in college.

    What we do not know for sure is how they will do in the NFL.

    Clausen may be the next Montana or the next Ron Powlus. I'll root for him to make it but you can't state that for sure at this point.

    And neither can you say for sure what Tebow will do.

    What I do think we can speculate is that Clausen will be drafted higher.

    Look, I don't think this should be a Clausen vs Tebow thread, as Scott said it's a Clausen thread. However if Corey or anyone wants to make comparisons to the Gators and/or Tebow I think it's quite fair for us to respond or make our own comparisons.

    Precisely why Tebow was injected into the conversation. Corey did it indirectly....I responded directly.

    No way Florida would have been as successful the last three years with Clausen.....it's a different style. And having seen Jamarcus Russell in person no friggin way I would take him over Tebow at Fla.

    The only college Qb in Urban's system I would even consider as an equal to what Tebow has done in Gainesville would be Vince Young.

    :lol: :lol: :lol:

    Just a little Gator obsession Scott. :wink: :wink:

    Clausen is a fine QB, will go very high in the draft, most likely the top QB selected.

    I wish him well.

    Terry, I agree that the running game hasn't been great, but it really is a north-south scheme, between the tackles. The only time I see east-west is from the single wing - er - wildcat formation. The issue in my mind is that we just have not had successful blocking for the running game. I'll stop there.

    So what you're saying Bill is that... of my assertion that Clausen would make any top 10 team better by being their starting QB, your only exception to that claim is Florida....

    Fair enough.

    Can you imagine Clausen at QB for USC this year? They wouldn't have lost a game. They have a great OL, RB's and WR's/TE. The true freshman QB just got overmatched as the year went on, and the pressure was enormous on the young defense. Clausen would have kept them in every game and given the defense a chance.

    Clausen would have made just about any team that runs a Pro style offense or a pass oriented Spread better. Obviously he's not a runner so he wouldn't have worked in the Fla offense or for that part in the Texas offense.

    It will be interesting to see if Meyer tweaks his offense to the talents of Brantley or just continues on and Brantley is the next Alex Smith who ran the ball but not like Tebow.
