First post in this topic on September 15th stated:
If there had been an objection, we would have discussed it then. There wasn't, so we continued with that tie breaker for total score.

Results are verified. Only one tie and that was for second place. Gator Bill was declared 2nd and Bear Down Rick 3rd by the "dropped points" tie breaker.

I won for the second year in a row but I promise, there will be no ESPN announcers talking about me at every opportunity!

    FIX!

    I mean, congratulations, Tom! :D

And congratulations to you as well, Bill.

This is the second time that I missed my picks due to a Thanksgiving family get-together (read: drinking) when I was threatening to actually win something. The last time was in 2004. With the charge that Treefrog was making I'm just happy to have ended up where I did.

    Rick,

If you had not missed week 13 and scored 121 out of 153, you would have tied for 1st and would have beat me out in the tie breaker. Six people scored 121 or higher so that was possible.

The two dropped weeks helped you though. If we had no dropped weeks, you would have come in at 14th place.

A final finish IF WE DID NOT DROP WEEKS would have been:

PL --- TP --- DP --- ALL --- Team name

    01 --- 2223 --- 133 --- 2356 --- Lane's Boys
    02 --- 2211 --- 130 --- 2341 --- Gator Bill
    03 --- 2192 --- 142 --- 2334 --- Bryanspicks
    04 --- 2204 --- 128 --- 2332 --- Tree Frog
    05 --- 2199 --- 128 --- 2327 --- Hoosier Irish
    06 --- 2198 --- 128 --- 2326 --- Lady Vol
    07 --- 2184 --- 125 --- 2309 --- Angry Mob
    08 --- 2168 --- 137 --- 2305 --- LoneStarIrish
    09 --- 2179 --- 119 --- 2298 --- Stu's Cat
    10 --- 2161 --- 131 --- 2292 --- Boondock Muskies
    11 --- 2149 --- 140 --- 2289 --- bama-bobear
    12 --- 2173 --- 113 --- 2286 --- FL Bucks
    13 --- 2137 --- 116 --- 2253 --- Don Ballard
    14 --- 2211 --- 31 --- 2242 --- Bear Down Rick
    15 --- 2111 --- 106 --- 2217 --- RoGator
    16 --- 2099 --- 112 --- 2211 --- NDFan77
    17 --- 2076 --- 111 --- 2187 --- PJIII
    18 --- 2050 --- 135 --- 2185 --- kp
    19 --- 2118 --- 30 --- 2148 --- Monte's Mob
    20 --- 2032 --- 107 --- 2139 --- Tim Gentry
    21 --- 2078 --- 26 --- 2104 --- Scott's shots
    22 --- 2063 --- 18 --- 2081 --- CORNDOG
    23 --- 2036 --- 0 --- 2036 --- gipper
    24 --- 1974 --- 0 --- 1974 --- maybe this year
    25 --- 1815 --- 0 --- 1815 --- IrishIwasinDixie
    26 --- 1805 --- 0 --- 1805 --- T-Bucks
    27 --- 1387 --- 0 --- 1387 --- GORT
    28 --- 1365 --- 0 --- 1365 --- Geek Tragedy

If we had dropped only one week, the final would have looked like:

    PL --- TP --- DP --- "-1" --- Team name

    01 --- 2223 --- 133 --- 2332 --- Lane's Boys
    02 --- 2211 --- 130 --- 2321 --- Gator Bill
    03 --- 2204 --- 128 --- 2313 --- Tree Frog
    04 --- 2198 --- 128 --- 2304 --- Lady Vol
    05 --- 2192 --- 142 --- 2301 --- Bryanspicks
    06 --- 2199 --- 128 --- 2295 --- Hoosier Irish
    07 --- 2184 --- 125 --- 2286 --- Angry Mob
    08 --- 2173 --- 113 --- 2286 --- FL Bucks
    09 --- 2179 --- 119 --- 2274 --- Stu's Cat
    10 --- 2168 --- 137 --- 2273 --- LoneStarIrish
    11 --- 2161 --- 131 --- 2269 --- Boondock Muskies
    12 --- 2149 --- 140 --- 2266 --- bama-bobear
    13 --- 2211 --- 31 --- 2242 --- Bear Down Rick
    14 --- 2137 --- 116 --- 2235 --- Don Ballard
    15 --- 2111 --- 106 --- 2217 --- RoGator
    16 --- 2099 --- 112 --- 2202 --- NDFan77
    17 --- 2076 --- 111 --- 2166 --- PJIII
    18 --- 2050 --- 135 --- 2165 --- kp
    19 --- 2118 --- 30 --- 2148 --- Monte's Mob
    20 --- 2032 --- 107 --- 2111 --- Tim Gentry
    21 --- 2078 --- 26 --- 2104 --- Scott's shots
    22 --- 2063 --- 18 --- 2081 --- CORNDOG
    23 --- 2036 --- 0 --- 2036 --- gipper
    24 --- 1974 --- 0 --- 1974 --- maybe this year
    25 --- 1815 --- 0 --- 1815 --- IrishIwasinDixie
    26 --- 1805 --- 0 --- 1805 --- T-Bucks
    27 --- 1387 --- 0 --- 1387 --- GORT
    28 --- 1365 --- 0 --- 1365 --- Geek Tragedy

Just showing the affects of dropping zero, one, or two weeks. We dropped two weeks this year which gave us the final results reported last night.

Congrats to Tom and the other top finishers. I'm sure BDR's Wildcats win over USC yesterday helped some with the disappointment!! :)

Thanks, Tom. Now I feel much better. 8)

The Trojan win was great, Terry. I'm pleased for what it means for Mike Stoops, and 2nd place in the Pac-10 is pretty good for Arizona given the up-and-down season we've had.

Data and several "Awards" from this year’s contest:

Not one single person repeated as the weekly champion. We had 14 people that won a week.

We had 14 different people that won a weekly 2nd place

We had 11 people that took 3rd place in weekly contests with Lady Vol threepeating and Boondock Muskies placing 3rd two times.

We had 11 people that took 4th place in the weeklies with Hoosier Irish, Monte’s Mob, and Corndog doing it twice each.

The most top ten finishes went to Lane’s Boys with a total of 11 and second place was a 5 way tie between Gator Bill, Bear Down Rick, Tree Frog, Hoosier Irish, and Monte’s Mob with 8 top tens each.

The I should have reversed all my picks award goes to: IrishIwasinDixie. He failed to place in the top ten all 14 weeks with a top weekly finish of 14th in one week.

The French Flag of Surrender goes to the two people that tied for the most weeks without picks: GORT and Geek Tragedy both fell one week short of missing half the weeks. This award should have gone to another team that dropped out early.

The Skydiver award given to the most rapid freefall goes to T-Bucks who was in 3rd place in week 10 and dropped to 26th in the last 4 weeks.

The Sky Rocket award given to the most rapid climb goes to Tree Frog who was in 17th at “halftime” and climbed to 4th in the final rankings.

I don't know how I did it but I won one week and did not win another even though I got every game right in another week. If you get every game right in a week, how do you not tie for first?

I'm having mine mounted on my car as a hood ornament. As soon as I get it back I'll post a pic.

The tiebreakers....projected scores, most points, least points at the bottom of the picks list.

    Note to Cindy:

Get Tom to trim those nose hairs. Next time he sneezes, he's gonna whip himself.

For weekly positions, the tie breakers (scores for two games) are used to determine who finishes ahead of who if two or more people are tied for a certain position. There was not obvious rules for ties in overall scores, so we agreed that the total dropped points would be used to decide the overall positions in a tie.

You are referring to week 6 when there were 4 people, including you and me that were tied for 1st with a perfect score. The system used the tie breakers to determine that I was the closest, maybe this year was next closest, LonestarIrish next, and then you.

Tom, as I understand it, the weekly game picks are the only scores that matter as far as our contest is concerned. Since we don't have weekly prizes, tie breakers for the week have no impact on the final totals. Geez if I'm wrong, I should have paid more attention to them. My attitude was that it was best to fill them out so you could confirm that your picks were complete.
