I think the reference was being made that Cindy took Tennessee for veeerrrryyyy low points and that you might think about inquiring why she wasn't going full out! :wink:

Tennessee has been in the contest 3 times: Week 3, 8, and 9

Week 3: Corndog picks Florida over Tennessee for 1 point

Week 8: Corndog picks Alabama over Tennessee for 13 points

Week 9: Corndog picks Tennessee for 7 points over South Carolina

Friday night game again this week people!!!!

 

Remember, you need those dropped points! Last year, there were 15 weeks in the contest. Weeks 13 and 14 were 12 game weeks (78 max points) and week 15 was a 7 game week (28 points max). This year, I expect week 14, the last week, to be a 7 game week. That is the week of the SEC Championship Game and week 15 held that game last year. Not certain what 12 and 13 will look like but I expect them to be like 13 and 14 last year..

 

Yeah. I read 'em. I would have taken the other team too if it wasn't my team.

 

I realize that it is only Tuesday but we only have 7 people that have made their picks. None of the four that missed last week have picked this week.

FRIDAY NIGHT GAME THIS WEEK!!!!

If you miss two weeks, you are possibly eliminated from any chance of finishing in the top 10. Miss three and you are possibly eliminated from any chance of finishing in the top 15. Miss four and you are guaranteed a bottom 5 finish.

I'm not advocating it here, but in my money group, the bottom 5 get renamed by a vote of the other members. On of the teams is named: Millie Vanillie Sausage Party. Don't ask... you don't want to know. It's not me... I'm in second place out of 30 there in that group.

 

Eight people have not made their picks and we are down to 13 + hours until kickoff of the first game.

 

Still six that have not made their picks but only one of them that usually waits until the last minute.

I find it pretty interesting that quite a few members put 5 or less points on Notre Dame, including AJ only put 1 point on the Irish. Suprising because we were coming off a good win vs WSU (granted not a great team) but we had Navy at home Michael Floyd was back. Navy a good team but had lost the week before to Temple. I would have thought most people would have had us in double digits confidence points. Now everybody did pick ND, though so they at least thought we were likely to win, but just not sure.

Those of you who put in low confidence points what was your thought process?

 

I have expressed the reason I thought it would be close. The emotional factor of the military acadamies this week. I had ND at 18 points until the attack on Fort Hood. After that fiasco, I dropped ND to 5 and raised 5 - 17 up one point each.

By the way, my picks were good enough to win my money contest again this week.

 

I watched them and knew they can be a b!tch to play....I also knew that they were going to get their starting QB back or at least expecting him and he provides a whole additional threat dimensioin for them....I've never been a big fan of Charlie's defenses and I figured they would eat up large chunks of the clock and keep the ball out of Jimmy's hands......I fully expected the Irish to pull it out but also knew that in a game like that, a couple bad possessions for the offense - as they're not going to get many - can make a big difference....just my two cents.

 

That's a pretty good answer, I just didn't think people would take that into account (getting their QB back) and ND's defense. I figured them losing to Temple while ND beat WSU handily would be the predominant thought when picking.

 

One and only warning... Friday game this week. Get those picks in!
