kp, I believe the key to your win was your Oregon-over-Stanford pick. You gave Oregon 15 points. What did you know that the rest of us didn't? :wink:
Sid, I don't know. Like I said, "Blind squirrel". Nah, Oregon had the better defense and to me that is the big discriminator.
Excellent point. I guess I just don't pay enough attention the those left coast teams, except for the ones we play against.
Kesley, We're talking degrees here. Like I said, Oregon played LSU, and while they got beat they held their own for much of the game. Stanford is the high powered offense with the Heisman candidate qb.
Before this game, I thought Stanford's D was pretty stout. They had been gouged in areas of the game, but they are physical and tough. Oregon's D always looked suspect to me up front. They are quick, but easily pushed around. Maybe LSU's anemic offense kept Oregon in the game? At this point of the season, the P12 isn't any clearer to me so you're probably right.

Last week's 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams all scored out of the top ten with 1st being out of the top 20 this week. 1st and 2nd did not drop but 3rd dropped to 4th. This is the main reason for the closer scoring this week. Keep this in mind. With two weeks, more like a week and a quarter since the last week will be short on games, next week will be VERY IMPORTANT in determining the outcome of the contest. With everything this close and no dropped weeks, even the short week could change positions.

I think I have this right... not certain of anything on 2007 and 2008 except for what I can verify by the trophies at my house. I think 2nd and 3rd are correct for 2007 but not certain. Please fill in the blanks for 1st and 2nd in 2007 and verify 2008. Also, trophy winners, please post your positions for 2000 through 2006 as well! I am going to try my best to win this thing but I would be just as happy if we had three first time trophy winners.
