I've never seen his name mentioned anywhere as the "favorite" to use your words....could you provide a link to give some perspective?
    I see.....of course.

So he answers a question from a reporter and that's enough for you to conclude that he was in consideration as a GOP candidate and/or the favorite for the VP slot.........seems to me to be a bit of a stretch but certainly not outside your creative range......

What is interesting about Rick Scott is that he beat a really viable Democrat for Governor.

Bad as MCG may think he is, the guy is in his first year as Governor. If I were MCG I wouldn't take a lot of bets that there is a Democrat who will beat him in 4 years.

MCG, your bias is really, really obvious. Probably a good bet in politics would be to read your rantings then go the opposite.

    That mean Rick Scott....

(CNN) -- Saying it is "unfair for Florida taxpayers to subsidize drug addiction," Gov. Rick Scott on Tuesday signed legislation requiring adults applying for welfare assistance to undergo drug screening.

"It's the right thing for taxpayers," Scott said after signing the measure. "It's the right thing for citizens of this state that need public assistance. We don't want to waste tax dollars. And also, we want to give people an incentive to not use drugs."

Under the law, which takes effect on July 1, the Florida Department of Children and Family Services will be required to conduct the drug tests on adults applying to the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program. The aid recipients would be responsible for the cost of the screening, which they would recoup in their assistance if they qualify. Those who fail the required drug testing may designate another individual to receive the benefits on behalf of their children.

Fla voters elected him and now they don't like him. So I guess he's the first elected offical to lose favor with those who elected him....well except that guy in Washington...what's his name?

Scott getting elected is proof positive about what I have been saying is wrong about politics today in this country.

The GOP voters that have turned on him so quickly didn't like Scott....didn't trust him... but they went with a GOP vote regardless of the ill will they felt toward him.

We are that polarized in this country. So much at each other's throats that we cannot listen to our hearts and good sense.....we just toe the line in hating the other side.

That's why as I posted in another topic that so many GOP supporters think W was a man who could do no wrong and who left this country sitting on top of the world politically and economically when he left.

    That itself is a joke.

Your post is a joke. I have never met a single Republican who thought that Mr. Bush "was a man who could do no wrong" or who thought that he "left this country sitting on top of the world politically and economically when he left."

You're just making stuff up and arguing with yourself. You don't even know what conservatives believe or what liberals believe either...

Most seem to be unable to exhibit honesty and sincerity about the subject.

To judge Obama's progress accurately you have to establish the baseline first.

Like the ad out now on TV we have try and determine where we stand on the suck-o-meter compared to when Bush left office.

Our status sucked big time then and when the elections come up in 2012 we have to determine if it sucks more or not as much as in Jan. 2009.

Did the performance of the Democrats in the Senate establish a baseline? They've been in control since the 2006 election. No budget, law or appointment could have got passed them without their advise and consent.

Yes and Bush and a GOP Congress were in control for six years before that........driving the train of economic destruction.

Yeah 2001-2006 you were really struggling weren't you MCG? You'd probably give your left nut to be back to those terrible days.

2001-2006 was the greatest era of job creation in American history. The Republicans pulled us out of the Clinton recession and rearranged the world after 09/11 so that we were never attacked again. They weren't perfect, but compared with the wall-to-wall incompetence we have now, they look like shining stars in comparison.

Please note that those years were the result of the greatest efforts and most significant career achievements in my life.

I turned the corner actually in 1994 by being accountable......and therefore dependable and getting just the opportunity that I needed for future success.

By 1998 I had begun to sow the seeds of my eventual sales achievements by landing substantial new business at GM and then in 2000 I became dominant in my field and I was quite adept at retaining and growing the business I had attained.

My biggest regret in my job loss is that I threw all of those skills, dues paid and experience away by signing a severance agreement that prevented me from taking my talents and continuing on in my field with another company.

The only reason I did sign that agreement was because of the extreme severity of the recession in Detroit and the fact that my core business was almost worthless in the face of their looming bankruptcies.

No one "gave" me a damn sliver of my sales successes.

I earned every damned bit of what I enjoyed in those years right up until the big three started to hit the skids in 2007-2008.

W and his cronies didn't do crap for me and I even weathered the 2001 recession much better than average folks because of my sales successes at the time.

I will say that my home investment/nest egg turned to absolute dust from the time of the mortgage crisis on and all that began when George still had 3 years left in office.

You sound like a talented guy who hitched his wagon to a falling star. How is that Mr. Bush's fault?

Jo'Co I am not going to say with certainty that anything good or bad that happened in 2000-2008 can be directly attributed to the actions of Bush but as I might possibly consider in the next election I did not like the turn of events and the way things were going in 2008 and to extend more of the same seemed illogical.

So I was happy that Obama won the election but if I perceive things are headed in the wrong direction in 2012 I can definitely consider voting against him.

So right now you think things are heading in the right direction?
