Yes he is Terry, in school and ready for spring practice. What I think would be different if Driskel won the job outright is that he would have the first two games for sure and the whole season to get his experience. I would prefer Brantley to do well enough for things to be like you said, but so far he hasn't shown the ability to be a first rate QB. I hope he does this year.
He hasn't worked with Charlie yet, I do believe Charlie can significantly improve Brantley pretty quickly.
Under the topic of recruiting shennigans...USC seems to have a problem. They already have 25 letters accpeted, plus the 8 who went against the 2010 class. But on signing day, when USC released their official signing list, which didn't include DE Steve Dillon, who had committed back in November. Dillon said he faxed his letter of intent; USC said it never received it. Three days later, there has been no resolution of his situation. I wouldn't be surprised if this is blatant scholarship trimming by Kiffin. Hopefully someone calls him on it. It's a good thing Pat Haden is there to prevent this sort of thing!
Some day someone will have to explain to me what good are NCAA sanctions if sleazeballs like Kiffin are allowed to pull this crap. If they win their appeal it's BS. If that kid gets left out it's BS. Of course it is kiffy cakes who thinks the rules do not apply to him.
ND <t>Ahh, Mr Kiffin. You would think that a school that was appealing NCAA sanctions would want to keep as low as possible a profile right now at least until things a resolved but nooooooo..Oh well, let's just hope he and USC get their just reward.</t>
More on Brisset: "Jacoby Brissett sure did. His mom wanted him to play for Miami, but Brissett -- one of the top quarterbacks in the country -- preferred Florida. After Jacoby picked the Gators late last week, his mom whined to the media that Florida was "not my choice. I'm very disappointed. I didn't like the way Florida handled the process." What, specifically, did Brissett's mom not like? This: Florida head coach Will Muschamp never met her in person. Swear to God, that was her problem. Muschamp had been the Florida coach for only seven weeks. Since coming from Texas he'd been flying all over the country, driving all over the state, trying to keep Urban Meyer's recruits and win some news ones for himself. Apparently he didn't have time to meet the parents of every kid he was recruiting. What's it to Brissett's mom? Well I can tell you that sometimes things like "not meeting the head coach" can really turn off some parents. We have had a couple of instances where kids/parents made trips to ND "unoffical" during the summer and the HC wasn't in town and we lost those kids or so they say due to that. Never mind that they were told the HC wasn't going to be in town, or that they were given the royal tour, etc. They felt like the HC should drop what ever he was doing and get back to campus for them.
Tim, I'm afraid that his short stay at Tennessee is going to cost us much more than what it will cost him. That S.O.B better not show up around here during deer season. I can imagine a rack of antlers on just about anything! My only deer rifle right now is a Russian Saiga AK-47.
Good thing for the Gators that the kid has a more mature understanding of the situation than did his mom. We lost Tim Jernigan because he could not see around the complexity of a coaching change even though supposedly he is a "lifelong" Gator fan who lives 30 miles from campus.
I kind of like ND recruiting coordinator, Chuck Martin, take on recruiting. We lost a Texas recruit to OU in the last couple of days leading up to NSD, his best friend was going to ND and even that didn't hold him. According to Martin you have know when to hold'em and know when to fold'em.
