Bubba's got it right. However it really sucks that Tiger said in his news conference that he knew he didn't hit from the right spot. IMHO he cheated to gain an advantage and should have been DQ'd...more importantly he should have never done it since he knows the rules and after he did it he should have DQ'd himself.

Of course they have teams of officials to enforce the rules during the game. Golfers are supposed to police themselves and demonstrate integrity.

True, but there are rules officals all over the place at these major tournaments. If for some reason Tiger was unsure he could have called one over, but it appears he knew the rule and went ahead and fudged on it to get a better lie.

Also I have to wonder what went on in that committee room where they were reviewing Tigers drop and decided he was ok and only after a fan called in they went back and said...oh yeah he did break the rule..son of a gun how'd we miss that.

Actually, the rules committee reviewed it after the fan called and decided it was "close enough." It wasn't until Woods blabed in his press conference that he intentionally moved back a little bit that the **** hit the fan. As lawyers tell their criminal clients "never talk to the police." :)

Tiger dinged himself. I don't think Jack or Arnie, or any of a number of other traditionalists would have done this. Tiger's legacy takes a hit. In golf, you just don't do this.

Well all's well that ends well. Adam Scott played great on the back 9 and sunk two pressure packed putts. Angel really almost made it moot point though with his chip on 18 on the 1st playoff hole. That shot he made on the 72nd hole was masterful.

I'm all over the place on the long putters, since I don't use one it doesn't matter to my game and certainly they have been in use for so long that you might say that by their lack of action in the past the R&A and the USGA gave up their right to take them out of play. But then how long did we play with square grooves before they took those out of play?

Now somebody claims Tiger didn't drop improperly. They say their picture where they match up the divots in the area show he was within the rules.

Also no truth to rumor that Tiger is changing his name to another Cat...Cheetah! :)
