I'd like to see us pick up a few of the TE/HBack types that Alabama uses. They have 2 or 3 guys who only catch passes in warmups, although they probably could catch if called upon. Essentially, they are gorilla sized dudes who just live to take on DEs and LBs. It's one of those transitions of the modern game. Instead of having a stocky FB right under the QBs butt to negotiate routes between the A gaps, they've gone with bigger guys to combat the size of DLs, DEs, and LBs on the perimeter. Given Kelly's desire for big, physical bodies, I'm surprised we don't have more of those.
Irish Hockey to Play Boston College next year in the "Frozen Fenway" series. BU will play Maine in the other game. Frozen Fenway I wonder if JIF will make it?
ND RECRUIT <t>Wow! This has to be one of the top RN recruits ND has landed in a long time, RB Elijah Hood from NC gave his verbal to the Irish Today!!</t>
I thought he was gone, all the talk was about how his parents really wanted him to play at UNC and stay close to home. But both his parents made the trip this weekend, they must have liked ND quite a bit. Great pickup for the Irish, he's a 5* and the #12 ranked player on Rivals.
Good bye Notre Dame vs Purdue. The B1G going to 9 conference games in 2016...this from the Purdue Ath Dept Twitter Feed. @TJamesNDI: Purdue AD. RT ‏@carminjc Burke said ND series now "off cycle" w/ #B1G going to 9 games starting in 2016. @carminjc: Burke on playing 7 home games vs. keeping ND: "I cannot balance the budget on six home games. Can’t do it. It doesn't work." #Purdue
Wow, hard to believe. The Big Ten power Purdue, can't work ND on to its schedule. Then again, when you're scheduling Northern Ill. and Ind. St. with ND and you have to let one go, you might as well dump the one that beats you more often than not. Typical Big Ten decision.
ND <r><QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> I can't tell you how funny this is and how happy it makes me. Thank you God, no more Purdue, NO MORE PURDUE!!! LOLROTF!!!!!!!</r>
I am very disappointed that we won't be playing Purdue. It's perhaps the most valued rivalry we've had over the past 80 or so years. They played us when the rest of the Big 10 shunned us for various reasons, as has been discussed here in the past. Purdue is a quality program with a long and storied history. It's a loss for the integrity of our scheduling. One more unfortunate sign of how the landscape is changing.
re: Elijah Hood This kid is your basic north-south power back. "The wheels on the bus go 'round and 'round..." <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fEKnEvXFR1Q?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0"></iframe>
George it's out there that Carlo's Dad and Manti got into it at a South Bend pub the night before the Spring Game. I thought Carlo and Manti were extremely tight?
eh, **** gets out there and feelings get hurt when booze starts flowing. It's best to move on from these things
No problem, Tim. Remember, I live in Indiana and am very familiar with the back and forth between IU and Purdue fans. I am offering my opinion only from my ND perspective regarding the longstanding relationship and mutual respect between the ND and Purdue programs.
Back when Sid and I were at ND, Purdue was a powerhouse. Players like Leroy Keys and Bob Griese made them a formidable foe. My guess is that they've had enough of Kelly coached ND teams.
The Moment, a USA Network reality show has an episode involving a youg guy who wants to be a football coach at Notre Dame. Here's a clip: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/it9jswGX3p4" frameborder="0"></iframe>
  Tim grew up in Indiana. His love of Notre Dame and dislike of Purdue is home grown. I'm sure it's nothing personal. His experiences were probably different from those who attended those universities. Tim was career military like AJ...
