Bobda, it is interesting that more than a few schools are having a tough time getting their students to want to attend football games. As as been posted before many don't like the fact that they are out of touch for those hours they are in the stadium. No wifi, no cell service, their Twitter feeds are going unnoticed, who's watching their backs on Facebook, they can't post instagram or vine stuff, snapchat...nada.

The meltdown of our football program has caused some M fans to really go off the deep end.

    Terry,

    That "problem" is being addressed.
For 2015 when the Kyle renovations are complete, there will be massive amounts of bandwidth available in the stadium.
I'm not sure how many cells they are putting in, but from what I've heard the kids will not have any trouble staying online during the games...

    Bob,

Where do you dig up this stuff????
I'm not sure if I should laugh or feel bad.

We don't have a coaching search until we've heard from this guy anyway

Henson is a former host of the radio sports talk program in Detroit who I think ended up being canned and now works in sports radio in Pittsburgh. The uncertainty over the future of the program is at that stage where certain bloggers and media personalities come out of the woodwork and underneath rocks to announce that their secret sources have provided BREAKING NEWS.

You guys lived through that type of misery for about a decade. This decade you get to sit back and enjoy never ending circus playing in Wolvieland.

Since Bobda seems determined to keep this a somewhat serious thread ;)

Interesting that (if you read the comments) the author says that none of his article is opinion... but just because you're relaying the opinion of someone else doesn't make it less of an opinion.

As a few of the folks in the comments section mentioned, I have a hard time seeing either Harbaugh leaving the NFL to come back to college. As great as Michigan is, it's not the NFL.

The one thing that really piqued my interest in that article was the point that Miles has never been offered the job, or really ever seriously considered. From reading the tea leaves between the lines on Miles' statements over the years, I believe this to be true and find it mind boggling. He's bat **** nuts, but so was Bo..and I mean that in a good way.

I've read rampant speculation over the years that Miles was sticking his penis in everything, including Gary Moeller's wife. I've even read that it was that very situation that led to Moeller snapping at the Excalibur that night. Maybe it was because Miles' nicknamed his penis, Excalibur.. I don't know, but it's fun speculation.

I also read some things to suggest Lloyd was cheating and Miles' family took her in for a hot minute while they worked things out. Since that paints a very altruistic image of Casa de Miles, I choose to believe that rumor is ********.

So back to the idiocy intended...

How about a guy who doesn't have midwestern roots, but is named for a Midwestern town? He's had success against SEC teams... You can even print shirts at his press conference proclaiming 'We got Toledo back!'

I have lived what Bobda is going through right now. Both at Texas after DKR retired and before Mack was hired, then the last couple of years of the reign of Mack. I sort of believe that we dodged a bullet when Muschamp told Texas they could keep their Coach in Waiting title and left for Fla. But it is too bad that Mack stayed on thinking Garret Gilbert was going to lead the Longhorns to the Nat'l Title in 2010.

Then of course there is ND where we have had multiple periods of frustration with the coaching hires of those in Charge...Terry Brennan was a HS coach, so was Gerry Faust...what were they thinking. Then master stroke with the hiring of Lou but then failure and more failure after that...Bob Davie, really? George O'Leary actually would have been a great hire, I think he might have done at least as well as Kelly has done if not better. I think the man can coach and he had plenty of experience...except for that 1 flaw. I never wanted Willingham and and couldn't believe at the time that Weis was the best we could do. Of course we've supposedly had Gruden signed and sealed but Monk balked, then supposedly had Stoops ready to go but the powers that be told him no on critical things he wanted changed in the program. Urban Meyer to ND I really think was a myth that has been backed up by the timeline of his hire by UF.

But really Brian Kelly is still on probation with many fans who hate his offense because they don't think he's committed to running the damn ball and that he'll bolt for the NFL the first time he gets a solid offer.

Where did somebody dig up Michael Taylor? He's not a happy former Mich player, but it seems a bit self serving.

Aggie fans have had plenty of recent rides on the Coaching carousel...
    It's almost NEVER fun.
Sure the fans get all excited at the names that are thrown out, but in the end it's almost always a crap shoot.
Unfortunately you are more likely to get a ride into the hard deck than to the clouds...

Taylor was Michigan's QB during Schembechler's final two years as a coach. He injured his shoulder when M played ND in 89 i.e, Rocket's 2 TD game. He came back later in the season but needed surgery during the offseason. The school supposedly refused to pay for the surgery unless it was done at U of M's Hospital and apparently this is one of the reasons he is embittered.

In Michael Rosenberg's outstanding book about the M/OSU rivalry during the Bo/Woody era, he wrote that while Schembechler was a stickler for playing by the rules at Michigan, it was not uncommon for the coaching staff to discourage players from taking challenging majors for fear that their doing so would lessen their commitment to the football program. In contrast, Hayes, wrongfully accused of creating a football factory at OSU, had a genuine commitment that those who played for him be equally zealous of their academic and football pursuits according to Rosenberg.

Bringing this back to the idiotic intentions that it started with, I think I have another suggestion since my proposed 'Toledo take over' was met with silence. Look, we can all agree that college football is better when Michigan is a winner. We need Michigan to be Michigan and we need to do it quick.

If you don't mind cutting a few corners and are looking for a quick winner who can hang around long enough for one of the Harbaugh's to realize that their destiny is really in Ann Arbor, I've got another suggestion.

I think if Brian Kelly had another mediocre year this year he would be right behind Muschamp in the line for the hotseat.

Heck.... if Muschamp were having the kind of year Kelly was having he would go farther back in that hotseat line too.

It will yet to be determined just how goes ND's season but so far so good and certainly USC at the end of the year looks very beatable for the Irish.

Brian Kelly is on the hot seat with a lot of ND fans right now. His personality rubs some the wrong way and the fact that his offense is a pass first offense really chaps some who prefer the old Notre Dame power style with QB's under center, FB's and pound the ball mentality.

Personally I"m with him and behind him win or win. 8)
