Don't forget I'm not a ND grad! I went to Texas, which as my democrat friends like to point out the state is way down the list in terms of academic achievements for it's schools. I can hardly spell, much less understand the subtle nuances of my more highly educated friends here. :)

    AJ,

Seems as if there is room for one more in that barrel now that the Irish seem to have escaped it.

I don't know though with all those Volunteers, Trojans, Longhorns, Wolverines and yes.... Cornhuskers taking up space in that barrel.

    :D

Bobby Petrino, Dan Mullen and Todd Graham ...names for Gators.

What do you Gators think about Steve Spurrier coming back. I kept thinking he was going to retire real soon, but he seems to be going strong with no hints that he's done soon. I can't imagine though bringing back a guy who is close to 70. I know Bobby Bowden coached till his late 70's and of course Joe Paterno coached till nearly the day he died. But a new job at 70, esp a high profile, high pressure job like UF.

Because UF has the makings of a championship type defense that could be enough to sway Spurrier into one more try at coaching glory.

I think Spurrier could take the offensive talent on hand.... bring in a couple of hot shot freshmen skill players on the outside and immediately give that defense some help because of his caching acumen.

I do think he may have reached the ceiling at South Carolina and time is running out.

The question is would Foley look for such a short term solution?

    I think he should.

I don't see any slam dunks out there.

No on Petrino for me. Possibly on Mullen.... maybe.... not really sure how that goes over on the Gator Nation.

Maybe Rich Rodriguez? If Foley thinks he will keep it clean... maybe.

I think I would prefer less of a learning curve and an emergency rescue that Spurrier might provide.

I don't want UF in that barrel and they are about 3/4 of the way in already and slipping deeper every Saturday and with every decommit as I read today of a Top 100 LB flipping to Ohio State.

It's the recruiting that will push UF all the way in the barrel if the right new guy isn't hired much sooner than later.
