Bill....you need to enforce that "same thing said" idea all across the board. Sometimes I believe you are not catching who exactly it is that revisits topics. And with regard to that statement the inherent nature of a few topics do not lend themselves to just go away because they are a product of the games played. Do you really think college football games will be played in the future without controversy over things like bad refereeing? Scheduling issues.....coaching philosophies and/or changes....RUTS....fan base differences.....rankings...rivalries and the bad blood sometimes created by them...these are all part of college football. To me anything the media feels the need to revisit or discuss is newsworthy and worth discussion. How can his board have legitimacy and just plain ignore what is topical in the media?
MCG, this is exactly the problem I have dealing with you. You are like a bulldog and never let go. You say the same thing over and over to the point of hijacking a topic. Since you don't want to let up I am going to tell you this. One of my big disappointments since moderating here was the Ohio State - Florida BCS Championsip game. I didn't really get to participate and discuss as much as I would have liked to. Why? Because of you. Every topic would be hijacked with the same stuff over and over again. There is no debating with you, if someone has a difference of opinion with you never seem to know when to let go. I'm sorry if this offends you but that's the way I see debating with you. Now having said that don't by any means take it that I don't like you. You are fine but you do need to learn when to let go and when to not pile on. Further more I would submit to you that we do enforce across the board. In fact I will put it differently, we moderate the same across the board. Mostly that is just letting the members enjoy themselves and occasionally stepping in. I know you may not agree with that, but that is the way we feel about what we are doing here. For the most part it seems our members agree.
I understand what you are getting at Bill. However...with regard to the BCS CG I recall that almost everyone here wanted me to just own up as to how Florida was overmatched and had no business playing with the great Ohio State. Then after the results anything I posted seemed like boasting. The media wouldn't let it go for months and for months during the offseason it was indeed a major media topic. Thankfully it is history except that it has already come up because of OSU's success this season. I for one will be pulling for the Bucks to make it this time and I think that Glendale will help them immensely. On other issues I hope you do realize that some here love to kickstart things by posting comments that they know beforehand I will disagree with. When I respond it is my comment that you seem to hone in on instead of the one who initiated the conflict. Sorta like Baker's headslap response getting the penalty.
The only problem I have with your last post MCG is that you claim that so many people wanted you to own up to the Gators being over matched against Ohio State. I remember the Ohio State fans here being most gracious and saying they thought it would be a good game. Of course they thought Ohio State would win, as would you if you were an Ohio State fan. Let's drop this, I think we both understand where the other person stands.
Fine by me Bill. I will say that the Ohio State fans who were gracious and easy to get along with in Jan. are still that way today and I do just fine wih them.
