Bill Im certainly glad to hear it was "just" vertigo. My sister had a bout with that a few years ago, she went to a lot of MD's never did get a good diagnosis and eventually it got better on it's own. But it was scary bad at first.
Thanks Tim and Terry. Tim, at this time at least there is no indication that I need a knee, just the one hip. I hope it stays that way. And I don't think I would do them both at once. The knees are a harder rehab than the hip from what I have heard. Terry, I can certainly tell you I was afraid yesterday morning. I literally couldn't get out of bed without fearing a bad fall. Things are not perfect today but way way better.
Terry, it's interesting to see you say that about your sister. My friend got a similar diagnosis. He has hearing issues, so he thought it might be an inner ear problem, but his doc could not confirm it. His bouts are periodic, and he shakes it off, but I can tell he's frustrated that he can't get a solid diagnosis. Bill, I hope this is a one-time occurrence for you. Like Terry said, given the alternative, its fortunate that it was "just" vertigo.
Bill my sister at least once, had to have the paramedics come to the house and take her to the hospital because she couldn't even raise her head. As I said after seeing multiple specialists she eventually got better, but not due to any particular treatment/medication. Hope you progress rapidly back to normal!
"secondly you're going to need what ever mobility the other knee will give you while you're healing" Having had leg issues myself I would say the above is a very compelling reason not to operate on two knees at the same time. Good luck with your rehab Bill.
Got an appointment Thursday. I'll see what he says. I have a buddy who had them both done at once and did fine. Don't wanna go throught the whole process twice.
