I would <t>say that Tebow, at this time, is not a first round pick.. but then again, there are more bad first round picks than there are bad heisman winners..<br/> <br/> There are a lot of good/great Pac10 QBs and guys from this area that go on to play in schools around the country...Guys like Derek Anderson leave ND fans shaking their head that Brady Quinn is sitting behind him... most don't know he's a Pac10 guy... Tennessee has Ainge.... hell I could go on and on, but there's no point. There's a ton o' qbs out west.</t>
Corey, I would agree that now, at this time, he probably would not be.....give Urbie a year to get him coached up and by the time he's ready to leave, he will almost certainly, imho. The timing factor actually plays into the hands of him being a first rounder.....he surely wouldn't leave early unless he is assured of being a first rounder and if doesn't leave early he will have that much more time to develop his QB skills. Now, that begs the question of whether or not the Gator staff or offensive scheme are of the sort that would be part of the solution.....or not? Time will tell....but I'd certainly like to be his agent!
I can't believe that Tebow, who is in his first year as a starter is already being written off as a NFL QB...give me a break. I don't know if he'll be a NFL success or not, but he's got the things that they are looking for in terms of Size,Strength, mobility, etc. The Pac10 guys all thought Akili Smith was a great QB, same for Joey Harrington, and who was that UCLA QB who went to the Bears??? You guys thought he was terrific. They were all great college QB's for sure, but NFL flops. So why don't we give Tebow another year or 2 to see if he can progress even more than he did this year.
