Scottie Scheffler is the same, dominating the Hero birdies are falling for him.

This from the PGA Tour, and needed for the Waste Management in Phoenix.

Sounds to me like an attempt at wasted management.

Scottie just smoked the field, shot 8 under today total -25. 9th win of the year. JT played well and was in the final group with Scheffler but couldn't finish it. He ended up 3rd after driving into the hazzard on 18. He's got a new driver and it was working for him all week, he's gone to the tour max of 46 inches shaft length, mine is 45 1/2, Tiger said he is at 43 1/2.

Some interesting tourney's coming up. PNC Challenge which is the son/daughter with the Pro. The Langer's won last year. Also the Grant Thornton which is a LPGA/PGA team event always good as well, Jason Day/Lydia Ko won last year.

Well the PGA Tour 2025 is off and running in Hawaii with what used to be called the Tournament of Champions and was played at La Costa. The course was very tame this year and Matsuyama hit 35 under to win by 3. 35 under!!! A new record.

Next up they go to Honolulu and the Sony Open a much different course.

Yesterday was "honor" the Golf Channel Day. It was the Golf Channels 30th Anniversary. I'd forgotten that Arnie wasa the prime mover/founder of the Golf Channel.

I watched some of the TGL last night. New York Golf vs Bay Golf ...i didn't finish. I don't know what the future is with this, but right now I don't think I'll be spending much time watching it

Speaking of the beginning days of the Golf Channel, I miss morning drive with Holly Sonders. Read somewhere that she started a topless league. Think it's a pay per peek site.

I see that Jordan Spieth is targeting Pebble Beach for his return. Says the layoff was really good for him. We shall see.

Mean time a great tournament this weekend in the Desert at La Quinta. Last year Alabama Sophomore, Nick Dunlap, jumped on the big stage becoming the first Amateur to win on tour in a very long time.

In the meantime, Canadian Nick Taylor chipped in for an eagle on 18 to force a playoff in the Sony, which he won. That gets him to the Masters.

A lot of low scores today in the Desert, probably means the wind was down. JT Poston is in the lead.

Also the PGA Tour is moving the Genesis from Riviera to another location due to the wild fires. No word yet on where it will be.

Torrey Pines teed off on Wed as has been the custom recently due to not wanting the final round to conflict with the AFC and NFC games on TV.

Aberg shot 63 today and has solid lead. He played the North course which is shorter and easier than the South which he'll have to play tomorrow.

Wind is high today in La Jolla and they suspended the tourney for a couple of hours. Scores were baloning. Aberg still leading. The Amateur, Luke Clanton (sounds like a gun fighter) is in the top 10.

Pebble BEach, Scottie, Rory, and Spieth are back! Great tourney, beautiful venu, hope the weather is good.

LPGA also has a great tourney to kick off their year, at Lake Nona and it's also a Pro-Celebrity tourney.

I find watching Pebble Beach this time of year when the CA weather is sunny and mild to be uplifting. I once had a bucket list kind of desire to play it, but that ship has sailed.

Once after Mary and I attended a memorial service we got to talking about cremation and the spreading of ashes. She told me that she thought the best place to spread my ashes would be at Pabble. I asked her what hole she had in mind. She replied "Hole? I was thinking of leaving you at the Tap Room" (The bar there.)

Good day for the irish at Pebble Beach. Shane Lowery holed it on maybe the most iconic Par 3, #7, and Rory had a hole in one on Spyglass #15. Both are in the top 10 right now.

Scottie had a solid opening round of 67 and Jordan shot a 70.

Weather was good, going to be windy tomorrow.
