You must let the boy be a man...

Indians need a good bow for the arrow Gip.

Yeah it's still the guy holding the club and making the swing, but the new technology including materials on club faces and new shafts, etc. Have made a difference for all levels of players. Sure if you hit behind the ball or on top of the ball or have that over the top pull it won't help. But a swing that is pretty good but say you hit it a bit on the toe, that's where the new technology comes into play. The new shafts, the new heads are all designed to give you a chance at a higher ball speed.

Most of the new drivers help those who hit it a bit high on the toe, iron designs for the game improvement not only help a bit with distance but help to get a better launch angle.

PGA this week at Historic Oak Hill. John Daly out, and Jordan Spieth in. I like that.

BTW I played my 4th PGA Tour venue last weekend when I played TPC Southwind in Memphis. What a beautiful course. I didn't play esp well, but it wasn't the course, it was my swing. They do have an island green and I hit it with my 8 iron. So maybe I'll have a chance when I go to Sawgrass in Sept!!

It was a difficult course, but not unfair or anything.

Terry, your post made me go over PGA venues and see how many I've played. Regret that I never played Valhalla. My daughter Meg worked there for 2 yrs. and could have gotten me on there.

I thought you were talking about courses that have hosted the PGA Championship.

BTW, nephew Matt is playing in one of the US OPEN qualifiers this coming Monday. I don't expect him to qualify, but hopefully he will play well.

I am curious about who his playing partners will be, likely to be Tour players, either PGA, Korn Ferry or college players

    36 holes.

Bryson Dechambeau has the early lead, looks like a normal person instead of a linebacker. Same stiff arm set up on his swing though.

I got to play, first group off in fact, the Monday morning after the 92 pga that Nick Price won at Bellerive. Pro tee's, Sunday flag positions. Course ate me alive.

Apparently the feat of the day in round 1, was Tom Kim falling in the creek and coming up covered up to his knees in mud.

Might have been not only one of the greatest football players ever, but also one of the great lacrosse players as well.

He was a legend in his home town of Manhasset on Long Island. If I remember the story correctly he spent one sat. morning at a HS track meet winning the 100,220 and 440 races and then in the afternoon scored a half dozen TDs for the football team.

Miserable weather today. Pretty tight leaderboard. Personally I'm not playing in those conditions, I'm a weather wennie now that I am retired and can wait to play another day!
