Masters Week! 86th edition. Tiger Woods is on the property and practicing, some chance I assume that he will play. Scottie Scheffler has to be the favorite, right? He's currently the hottest player on the tour.
kp is there today for the practice round, I wonder if he's following Tiger. Weather is perfect today.
We heard he was on the range, and in the practice areas but he had not announced if he was going to play a practice round or.if he was going to play in the tournament. I was there until about 4 pm and we did not hear any updates. If he played a round it was.a late.one. I did hear he has played a couple of rounds at.Augusta over the last couple of weeks.
The weather was perfect today. Started out chilly (45) and ended up hot (80). Man, Augusta is a lot hillier than it looks.on TV. I walked.all 18 holes. I got to see Rahm, Fenau, Reid, Cam Davis, Dustin Johnson, and Varner. Pretty cool!
I just.read.that Tiger played 9 holes with JT and Couples. I was exhausted at about 3:30 pm and had a 2 hour drive back to our motel in Athens so I left after.about 8 hours of walking, so they must have teed off then. They have boards up around the course telling you when players are teeing off but you don't get much notice til they show up on the first tee.
As of right now, I feel like I am going to play, as of right now," Woods said during a news conference Tuesday. "I'm going to play nine more holes [Wednesday]. My recovery has been good. I've been very excited about how I've recovered each and every day, and that's been the challenge."
Watching golf Channel live from the Masters. It's raining cats and dogs in the background, course will be wet and soft tomorrow AM.
Well Tiger made it around just fine and finished 1 under for the day. After the long layoff and the rehab it would seem making the cut and finishing all 72 holes would be a pretty reasonable goal. Doubtful he sees it that way though.
Cam Smith had an odd scorecard. Started double bogey and finished with a double bogey and still shot a solid 68
Scottie with a 5 shot lead after 36 holes! Scheffler's advantage matches the largest 36-hole lead in Masters history. Five other players led by as many strokes after two rounds, including Harry Cooper in 1936, Herman Keiser in 1946, Jack Nicklaus in 1975, Raymond Floyd in 1976 and Jordan Spieth in 2015. All but Cooper ended up winning a green jacket.
Actually didn't know that pine trees grew in cold climate. So have you seen courses that use pine straw like they do in some southern states?
Pine straw is used as mulch in the south. Rarely see it used in northern regions. We use wood mulch. I think warm weather pines produce more suitable pine straw than cold climate pine trees. I remember visiting a rural part of Georgia many years ago and being surprised that pine trees grew in the South. I thought they only grew in colder climate areas.
