It seem to me that Bryson is a lot like Bubba Watson. Both have excellent games but both tend to lost their focus if they are not in contention. A good example of that was Bryson in the US Open. He dropped a few shots after the turn and then just mailed it in on the rest of the back nine. When he's focused he's tough to beat but that's not always the case.

The players are racking up some low scores.

Bryson put one in the water on the par 5 12th and gave some shots back but still at - 22 and a 2 shot lead.

Ancer's putter is really hot and keeping him in the mix.

Bryson just hit his 8 iron in the lake on the par 3 13th. He's flummoxed thought he flushed it and had plenty of club.

5 shot swing between Bryson and Patrick Cantlay, now instead of a 5 shot lead he's trailing by 1 shot.

We'll see if he can compose himself and get his game back on track.

Back 9 was really interesting, Cantlay and Bryson end up tied at - 21.

All tied between Cantlay and Bryson, both at - 24 after the first 9.

Back 9 for all of the marbles! Who has the steeliest nerve!

BTW Rory has something on that allows them to know his heart rate. Last time the showed it, it was 111.

I never would've guessed that number.

Bryson tee shot on 11, just wow.
Almost drove the green, then from about 13 yards off he putted the ball just missed making eagle, probably the only player who would do that. He made birdie.

But so did Cantlay who hit 4 iron off the tee, not driver like Bryson.

Interesting. Statistically, I wonder which strategy is more.likely to result in the lowest score?

No doubt the layup is the preferred way to go, Bryson took a big chance. He had to draw over the water, very risky. But he made the play so kudos to him.

Cantlay finches on 17, par 3 and he hits it in the water.

Standing on the tee he was in a good position, Bryson was short in some gnarly looking rough. Bryson had hit pitching wedge, Cantlay had 8 iron yet still didn't get there.

Yikes, Bryson chunks his chip. Makes bogey, Cantlay has putt at bogey to stay 1 shot back and drains it.

    Wow good stuff.

I can't believe it, Cantlay birdies 18 and forces the playoff. Bryson out drove him by at least 30 yards and his 2nd shot was inside Cantlay 2nd shot, but Patrick calmly drained the birdie and Bryson pulled his putt.

Back to the 18th tee again.

1st playoff hole, Cantlay hits the 2nd up above the hole in deep rough but makes a great shot to 5 feet, while Bryson hit his 2nd about 15 feet below the hole doesn't make it.

    Back to 18 tee again.

2nd hole, Bryson pummeled the ball 30 yds longer than Cantlay. Same as the previous playoff hole. Both in the fairway though.

Patrick hits an 8 iron fat and is way short, Bryson stiffs it, not a gimme though.

Cantlay has about 54 feet up hill. Bryson 63 inches!
After his first putt he's still outside Bryson, now a must make and he does. Bryson now has his 3rd putt to win, and he misses again.

    Back to 17.

Bryson hits pitching wedge inside 20 ft, Cantlay hits 8 iron and is about 25 feet.

Patrick 2 putts, Bryson has another putt to win, 17 ft, 2 putts as well a lip out!

    Back to 18 again.

Bryson loses his drive into the penalty area, while Cantlay hits it nicely in the fairway.

Cantlay gets a bit of a break on his 2nd and has a long birdie putt, but Bryson laying 2 in the fairway hits a great shot and has a very good putt for par.

He 2 putts, and Bryson has the must make to stay alive, and he does.

    Back to 17

I wonder if they're going hit the same clubs again.

Well Bryson goes with pitching wedge again, hits it stiff birdie opportunity. 190 yd pitching wedge! Cantlay gets inside of him with his 8 iron. Unbelievable.

Bryson makes his birdie putt as does Cantlay.

    Back to 18.

Same thing, Bryson out drives Patrick, has wedge while Cantlay has 6 iron.

Both hit good second shots but Cantlay drains the 17 footer for birdie while Bryson misses the 8 footer

Cantlay wins, it was his putter that made the difference.
