So....US Open next month...on a course Phil has played a million times....the Stars are aligned for a final time for Phil to get the career slam. And being on Roids will help him on the monster length of Torrey. :D

Thing is that although Torrey Pines is Phils home course, and he's played there 29 times, but he hasn't won since 2001 at Torrey. Not to mention the South course was updated in 2019 and the North course in 2016. So they aren't the same courses that he grew up playing.

Good read on Phil and Torrey Pines

Well, those were words from a year ago. Phil was 300 to 1 this week as the 115th ranked player in the world. He performed very well on in what my opinion is a brutal track in Kiawa. He proved the experts wrong. My only point is that as far as US Opens go, this might be his best chance right now.

How could I have overlooked him on my fantasy teams this week (he said tongue in cheek.) I remember when Nicklaus won the Masters in '86 and how surprised folks were that a 46 yr. old could win. I think Phil's win is a reflection of today's exercise and eating regimens used by some golfers. He also has been hawking a CBD oil. I tried it and am still using the white tees.

I wondered if he was chewing Fleer's double bubble gum or CBD gum yesterday...it was a big chaw almost like what you used to see baseball players who had a chaw of Redman in their cheek.

He might have to hit more fairways to win the US Open.

The Colonial in Ft. Worth...it's bound to be a very wet track, lift clean and cheat as we say down here...

Phil playing in the Colonial, his last tourney before the US Open, off to a slow start. He's +2 after 9 holes. Jordan Speith on the other hand is -3 after 9.

Speith had a great round shot 63 and is the leader at -7, Phil at +3.

Kokrak hit more fairways and more greens than Speith yet couldn't make any progress

Speith's putter covered a lot of iffy drives.

Unless Kokrak, barring a collapse has this one locked up. Up 2 and 4 holes to go, he's just playing better than Jordan
