Once again, putting seems to be the X factor. JT made everything (until 18). Let’s see if he can put another low round on Friday.
Poor lady probably thought someone was shooting at her when her window shattered. Good move to financially make things right immediately! If I were her, I would have demanded a free implant to replace an ancient crown on a tooth as damages for emotional distress.
My attitude when that happens is, Well, if I could always hit it where I wanted to, I would have been playing at Augusta last wek."
A little different out there today but JT held it together and leads by 2. Scottie continues to play well enough to be in the top 10 but just not the razor sharp player form last year.
Made the putt that coiunted. It was a bit like the Masters, it seemed like he was going to lose it but he found a way to win it.
On to New Orleans for the only team event on the PGA Tour calendar. The field usually isn't loaded with the top players but it's still an interesting tournament to watch.
The penalty that he called on himself could have been catastrophic, but he called it, and just played on. Very old school and refreshing.
Korda putted like me today and is changing putters. She's going to have to play really well to make the cut.
I watched the end of the Women's Chevron and it was a doozy. Anya Jutanagarn had it wrapped up just had to make par on #18, was in perfect position, hit the shot she wanted and the way this hole is layed out going for in two pretty much means you are going to be over but the players were literally aiming to hit the stands behind it and get a drop and then chip in for eagle or close for a Birdie. The TV was listening in on her shot, she and the caddie even identified where she wanted to bounce it off the spectators stands and she nailed it. But she didn't get quite the bounce and didn't get a drop but sill had plenty of room for a swing. But she chunked it 3 inches!!! Then the next shot rolled past the hole for a 8-10 foot comeback, for the par which she missed and turned a sure birdie and a win into a a boogie and a playoff. In the playoff, 5 ladies, they all hit to almost the same area. 2 were in the rough and layed up the other three hit that same shot, except on player who I think used a 4 wood which was risky because of the carry over the water, but she (Yin) nailed it and got it to sit on the green for a very makeable eagle and a sure birdie while the others had much more difficult situations. She blows the eagle putt way by the hole and misses the comeback. Anya and Sago didn't make thier Eagle chips but had reasonable birdie putts and Anya rims it out and Sago hits it and wins the whole thing. That chunk on the last hole by Anya has to be the worst shot I've ever seen to turn a win into a loss, oK maybe Phil hitting driver on 18 in the 2006 USOpen when all he had to do is hit an iron into the fairway. I didn't really follow the Zurich that closely.
Tour is in Dallas for the Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch. Scottie and Jordan are in the field. Scottie having a good day. Finished with a 61, 10 under and a 2 shot leave.
Scottie finished literally in the dark, made birdie and has an 8 shot lead at -23. Amazing tournament for Scottie.
Scottie wrapped it up with a dominating Sunday. PGA in 2 weeks, Rory owns Quail Hollow though but this could be a heavyweight fight between he and Scottie.
I noticed yesterday that McElroy and Thomas seemed to be talking freely between themselves during their round.
JT having a good tournament so far, he's definitely played better this year. Maybe he's on his way back to being the player he once was, I'm not so sure about Jordan Spieth.
