Ladies and Gentlemen: I don't know how many of you have flown through Hong F%@&ing Kong airport, but I will never do so again. I got off the plane (DragonAir) from Taiwan to Hong F%@&ing Kong. I threw away a half bottle of water as I entered security. Security checkpoint went well... the normal wanding since I have Titanium knees. I put myself back together and start strolling to the gate... I had 3 hours to get there. I search for a while and finally found a place that sold bottled water. I bought 5 bottles for the 13 hour trip I was about to undertake. I arrive at the gate with 2 hours to spare. Magazine time... MotorTrend has a good article comparing Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. With about an hour left until departure, 20 minutes before boarding time, Hong F%@&ing Kong security ushers everyone out of the gate area (end of a wing of the airport) telling us that we have to go through a second security check. Those a$$holes took my 5 bottles of water stating the obvious reason. But I had already been through security and bought the water inside the secure area of the airport. They closed their mind to my position. Now here is the good part: They took my insulin and the needles used to inject it. That is considered too much liquid and a DANGEROUS WEAPON that could be used against the flight crew. Nothing I said made a difference. One of those a$$holes even threw out an insult without any medical knowledge to back it up. I told him that without my insulin, the diabetic meals I had ordered could not be eaten, I would have to go 13+ hours without anything to eat and had no time to get anything now. I had breakfast at 04:15. I was supposed to have lunch on the plane at 2 pm which was stretching it but within reason. I had to wait until 4 a.m. Sunday (Hong F%@&ing Kong time - 23.5 hours after my breakfast) between meals with a condition that makes blood sugar control difficult at best. That a$$hole stated: "You could miss few meals!" If it would have been an American Jail, I would have gone postal on that son of a Cindy! Don't want any part of a foreign jail.
Tom I flew to Hong Kong about 20 yrs. ago. The landing approach was one of the scariest experiences you could imagine. It felt like we were actually flying between apartment buildings. Since then they've built a brand new airport. Most importantly, when I was there Hong Kong was an independent British possession. Today it's part of Red F*#@ing China. Maybe if we hadn't passed the Arizona immigration bill, the Red Chinese would be nicer to us.
I'm Hoooooooooooome!!!!!!! I'm so glad to be home. I'm certain that it will change but for now, no more trips until August!!!!!
