G...I give. Gators should do exactly what they want to do, it doesn't make any difference. If you have a great season, win most or all of your games and the SECCG you will be in a BCS bowl for sure and maybe the NC game. Nobody will care if all those wins took place in the state of Fla or in Wyoming...they will only care that you won a ton of games.

    Good luck with your season.

I've no problem with that .... but realize this thread was started by someone other than those you enumerated .... and continued by many others. And just FWIW, I wouldn't ahve posted except for the fact this subject was raised, yet again.

I was just giving my Husker pal and others interested in some historical perspective....it's not a new thing, it's how you roll, it's how you've always rolled, it's how you like to roll, why change things now......? 8)

    Z,

I challenge you to look over this entire board and find any other members engaging in arguments like the ones you and MCG perpetuate. They always center around you two.

I agree that you were not the one that started this topic. It wasn't even the person whos name is attatched to the first post. It is Daves continual bragging on the SEC that generates topics like this one. And you refuse to see that.

Welcome back, BT! How's my old buddy Dan doing? He's doing quite well here in Indiana. No surprise.

...no such thing around here if you are a Gator.

Please note I bring up the SEC's record in DEFENSE of the SEC after an attack on the SEC's validity.....not in an effort to brag.

But of course you don't see it that way.

Well, I see a lot of crap directed at someone who posted straight away objective data regarding schedule strength data in support of a position that UF shouldn't be asked to change its approach to scheduling for any reason.

What's interesting is ...... quite a few folks on this board are inclined to attribute the cause of, reason for their poor behaviors on someone else. And it was not me who initiated or perpetuated an argument on this thread ..... to even assert such is ridiculous. I presented facts, then expanded, clarified, and defended such in response to some pretty mindless, inflammatory stuff.

So, if you're really looking for some perps ..... you need to forget me and don't fault MCG for the troll originally posted by the cornhusker guy. Really, why even start with this same old stuff .... yet again? It was just an intentional flame.

Seriously, just take an honest, objective view of what was written on the thread .......

Give it a rest. There is no way to make you two into anything that even resembles the mantra of this board. Why do you even want to be here? This is obviously a place that doesn't agree with your opinions.

Well, I don't post much but read the board to get a few laughs, every so often. As far as my activity on this thread, well I think it's obvious that I don't share the opinions of most .... on this matter. So, what the heck is wrong with that? You expect everyone to agree with you and others on every matter?

Funny ... I'm ready the blurb at the top of this page and it states ........ "escape the madness and flames plaguing today's message boards". Well, what was the initial post or two on this thread ... and what were some of the comments directed towards me, including intentional misspellings of my user ID? I really don't care much what someone on this board posts on a thread ... but don't mischaracterize my comments and blow-off/condone the "stuff" posted by others.

Yeah I think it's time to put all this to rest, I'm guilty of bad behavior myself. Time to move along, not suggesting a group hug or anything but time to move on.

wait a minute.. while cruising thru this, someone claimed that I was disputing the validity of the SEC or something like that..

    bulllllllllsheet

My point is that we all take turns being better. No one conference is annually deeper and better... the mythic levels the SEC depths has allegedly risen to is laughable.

There have been years in which they were the best conference. There have been years in which they were as deep as they like to think.. but those are the rare exceptions.

It's cyclical.. so to suggest that others might be better than the SEC is to dispute it's validity? Hogwash.

You guys have a great conference... I just believe there are other great conferences as well.

    Certainly it is variable.......and cyclical.

But the recent cycle has been quite a long one for the SEC as a conference.

Individual teams out of other conferences during that time....notably Texas, Ohio State, Miami and USC have been the elite of elite in some of those years and some other teams have had competitive seasons as well.

But it's hard to dispute 6 of 12 BCS Titles by 4 different SEC teams.

That's like saying USC, UCLA, Oregon and Arizona all have won BCS titles in the last 12 years.

Heck.......that would be impressive for the PAC 10 if it happened and they would get their due as a conference.

    Sid,

have not seen much of our mutual friend, he's obviously quite busy these days....as you would expect, his house is on the market as he is expecting to be moving in a few months...

    JO'Co,

ditto my friend....best to tread carefully on this one, when someone is in denial about heritage and DNA it makes for quite good theater.....

BT...I mentioned OSU at Michigan in an earlier post..

It's about the same or slightly more of a drive than is Gainesville to Tallahassee.

Do you consider....at least for most of history.....that going to Ann Arbor has always been perhaps the Buckeye's toughest away game?

Only a 3-4 hour bus ride.....same time zone......but a very tough road game nonetheless. Before you answer consider that I have personally been in attendance at 4 of those games and one return match in Columbus.

I have always characterized that away game in Columbus as one of the toughest environments I have ever witnessed so I think Michigan fans would also say that playing in Columbus....a fairly short ride down the road is bi-annually their toughest road game.

You know, I'm very proud of myself right now. I have never started a post that has this many replies. I now have a new personal record. I would like to thank everyone involved for helping me achieve this milestone. I couldn't have done it without ya.
