haha well southern hospitality does have its limits and visitor's section tickets has always been one of those items in the exempt column.

The visitors get some very good seats on the student side of the stadium.

The seats they have in the end zone are not all that much higher than mine and I wouldn't mind sitting there if I was a visitor.

Some of the visitor seats are ground lever 50 yard line right behind the team bench. SEC rule that students can't sit right behind the visitors bench.

bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah hahaaaaaaaaaaaa....Aggies give visitor seats that they can't even see the game from!!

My Notre Dame seats back in Davie's last year (2001) were in section 149. You can't see the whole field...it's a trap! :)

I was almost depressed in the first half. But the Gators made better adjustments at half time than I remember in a long time.

    Great win for the Gators.

I think the Aggies have the potential for a very good team. That QB is totally impressive.

Thanks Terry, by the way my computer didn't bring up your image of the stadium earlier, but now that I see where you were sitting I understand what you are saying.

Grittiest win for the Gators in the last three years.

The win over Penn State in Urban's last game was pretty good and also Georgia that same year but this was better.

Kyle Field was rockin and all looked lost.

Hopefully it will lead to bigger and better things.

    From a Gainesville scribe:

"We might have seen the beginning of something. We know we heard the loudest locker room celebration we've heard through the closed doors in a couple of years."

It's not so much who we beat.....unranked as they were......it's more of a statement as to where the UF program was last week after the vanilla game vs. Bowling Green.....which it was compared to yesterday.

That said.... Texas A&M was a good opponent with a great crowd backing them and it was a very stern test.

I'm curious as to hear Scott's take on this one.

    That was a good day.
Would have been great with a win, but still good all things considered.
The crowd was great, the weather was awesome for Sept 8, and it was a pretty good game.
I think Florida did benefit from having a game under their belt, but we weren't as sloppy as we could have been when you consider all new systems and so many new players going out for together for the first time.

I disagree with the assertion that "banging around with SEC teams" for 4 quarters was the problem.
Our offense was sputtering in the second half because of the adjustments Florida made and youthful mistakes, not because they were being overpowered or worn out.
Sumlin has accomplished a lot in a short time, but we are still mostly the same team we were last year.
We are thin and VERY young at spots on defense.
Still some issues with good tackling.
We're going to be a work in progress this year. I see a LOT of future potential, but there will be growing pains along the way.

One comment on the officials - overall I thought they did a very good job... but it seems that holding doesn't exist in the SEC.
Hopefully we'll adjust to this new way of playing and use it to our benefit as well...
    :p

I agree and with the recruiting class the Aggies are having that future may be soon.

I agree on the non-holding calls also.....but the other way that you see it I'm sure.....

One thing.... too bad you guys aren't in the SEC East because I think your present team with that QB Manziel would beat more teams and have more success.

The West right now is rough.

DITTO. They didn't outhit or out-physical you. You guys lost the game in the same manner you did last year.. fading in the 2nd half. That has to be frustrating. Still, you guys look good and dammit, that's a really good young QB A&M has. I still think you need better WRs and a perimeter/slotback type of guy... maybe not, it's not like Alabama has one..

Where was the statement about banging around with an SEC team for four quarters? I don't agree with that either.

As to the referees, one of the biggest complaints I used to have against SEC refs is that they threw so many flags I thought that they thought we came to the games to watch them. Now many of them don't call near as many penalties. Then others do, we had 9 called a week ago. Of course a WR taking off running and being 5 yards downfield before the ball is hiked is pretty obvious. :)

I liked the Aggies offense and think the are going to win quite a few games.

    Bill,

Aside from Dave's subject/topic (which I believe Scott's post pre-dates), the whole statement about knocking it around for 4 quarters, or 'grinding it out for 4 quarters' started with Mark May on ESPN. It's been mentioned now on everything from CBS, to ABC/BCS and CSS.

These guys are pretty much parrots. It's just frightening when you consider how much influence/power they wield over the process.

I think Tex A&M was indeed physical enough to play in the SEC....just maybe didn't have the depth to hang for 4 quarters.

Aside from May's remarks I think Lou said something about bringing it week in week out in the SEC and that in particular is what I have been saying for years......that the conference week in and week out brings with it a brutal schedule and when you survive that as it's champion these days you are in pretty good shape to play anyone from any conference for the national title.
