Deshawn Wynn will be the healthiest he has been all year for this one and it's his last game to showcase for a possible NFL career. Mark my words....he is a huge X-factor for Florida on offense with his inside running ability. I am not saying OSU isn't fast....but I wonder if they have seen the speed on defense that UF presents. LSU managed 10 points on that defense and Arkansas managed 21 with one of those drives coming off an int deep in Gator territory. Aub scored no offensive TDs at Auburn. Tenn racked up 20 points in Knoxville. Steve Spurrier managed 16 points on the Gator D. They don't give up that many yards but they give up less points. This team can play some D and it will at least slow OSU down. I could see UF holding OSU to 28/30 points and see UF scoring in the low 30s with some great special teams and just enough offense. At least that's how I hope it turns out. 33-28 Gators sounds good to me.
and Jim Tressle with almost 7 weeks..... Hey look, I'm not being a hater here.......however, (pause for effect)....... FLORIDA IS GOING TO GET THE ABSOLUTE **** KICKED OUTA THEM ON JAN 8TH. Michigan should have another shot. They're the only team that can hang with OSU
Maybe ..... OSU's very good Really, how did UMich do in their conference championship game? And Illinois.
"FLORIDA IS GOING TO GET THE ABSOLUTE **** KICKED OUTA THEM ON JAN 8TH." These aren't your daddy's Gators AJ (read 1995)... Some initial bowl analysis: http://cfn.scout.com/2/597354.html
MCG, I giggle because those were the precise words our friends from Miami used the last time we faced a Florida school in the Title game. As it turned out, the Cane defense was the slower of the two defenses on the field! This version has more speed and is more athletic than the 02 model. Deja vu.....we simply added a more high-performance offense to the 06 model! So, that said..... Our kids see it every single day...... The Gators have an outstanding defense no question. It will be a key match-up in the game. Now the 33 points? You can't really believe that? Can you? How many times and against whom did the Gators put up 33 points on offense?
Stewie....SAY WHAT???????  I just hope those "slow, plodding Buckeyes" can keep up with the "whippet fast gators" and that JT is reading his "Coaching for Dummies" book so as not to be embaressed by the finest strategic mind in college football today( I also understand he turns lead into gold in his spare time) Gonna be an interesting game that is for sure!
Buckeyes have more big bowl experience than the Gators, they will be more familiar with the Phoenix trip since they have been their for 4 years in a row, I think. That will be an advantage. Also I don't believe they even sell Big Boy pads in Florida!!
Hi Terry, I hope you got my note. As to scoring over 30 points, we did that in our last game with Arkansas, 38-28, wit 7 of the points coming on a billiant decision    , by out coach to punt to the 6 inch line and cause the Arkansas guy to fumble. But the rest of the points were scored on offense, some with a short field. But I think MCG did say with the help of special teams. I have to admit that it's going to be an uphill battle for the Gators to win this one, but we will give it our best shot. Huskerman, well it seems we came to know each other on Prodigy when the Gators had the misfortune to play a Nebraska team that I thought was the best team the Gators ever played after the 95 season. And you guys scored 69 points I believe, however I think this defense is better and I sure hope we don't have to go through that again. But as I said, I'd rather be in this game and lose than to have missed the opportuntity to play in this game.
Whobe....don't that beat all!? This is the second bowl season in a row that our poor kids have been placed at a material disadvantage due to our inability to hire a solid head coach! Woe be to us......  In all seriousness, this has got to please Coach Bruce.....two of his protege's - both Ohio boys - facing off against each other in the championship game....more of Woody's offspring!
Couldn't agree with you more Bill in regards to the last sentence. I'm not trying to cause trouble, contrary to years past  , I'm just throwing my 2 cents in. You know I respect Florida, and you know what Florida team I truly disrespect. I wish the best of luck to your Gators.
Ok Tailback you don't think much of his offense. But he's done well enough to be 21-4 at Florida and 13-4 in the SEC. He has beaten Georgia twice, one of them last year when Georgia ended up winning the SEC. And just for the record, Gator fans like his offense and are looking forward to how it functions with Tebow at the throttle next season. But that's a whole other story.
""FLORIDA IS GOING TO GET THE ABSOLUTE **** KICKED OUTA THEM ON JAN 8TH." Seems to me Miami fans were saying that also about OSU in 2002.....hopefully all the fans as said here above will keep saying that very same denigrating thing about SEC Champion Florida for the next five weeks.
A little food for thought... From CNNSI: "You know what we say in the BCS?" he said. "Never say, 'That won't happen.'" A lot of people said that very thing about the Bruins' chances of knocking the Trojans out of the national championship picture on Saturday. And now that Florida has advanced to the title game under somewhat dubious circumstances, a lot of those same people -- particularly in Ann Arbor, Mich. -- are saying the same thing about the possibility of a Gators upset of No. 1 Ohio State. That's what we do in college football: We make assumptions. We assume Miami will crush Ohio State in the 2002 national title game. We assume '03 Oklahoma is one of the greatest teams of all time right up until the moment it loses 35-7 to Kansas State. We assume '05 USC will cruise to a third straight national title. We assume Wake Forest will never in a million years play in a BCS bowl." Go Gators.......
It seems that I have taken a step here (probably from hanging around Gipper and JOCO too much  ) that has touched a nerve or two in regards to my recent statement that I simply intended to be my personal humble opinion. I understand the articles, the facts, the motivation and the fans spirit and loyalty, but I still think that OSU WILL KICK THE **** OUTA THE GATORS ON JAN 8TH. And I still think the Wolverines should be playing for the NC against OSU. Once again, MHFO. Movin on.....
You're just pointing out what a lot of us already know. Some folks in Fla. overrate their teams. And they don't appreciate how good some teams in the Big Ten are.
