Obama: The “Toughest Three Years This Country Has Gone Through” Over Last 50 Years Just Happen To Be The Same Three Years I’ve Been President…
    [IMG]
    Coincidence? — I think not.

(CNS News) — President Barack Obama told a group of contributors at a campaign fundraiser in Florida on Thursday that his term so far has been “three of the toughest years this country has gone through in my lifetime.”

“We’ve gone through three of the toughest years this country has gone through in my lifetime,” Obama said, according to the White House transcript of his remarks.

“And there are a lot of people who are still hurting all across the country–a lot of people here in Florida, a lot of people everywhere,” said Obama. “There are still folks whose homes are underwater because the housing market collapsed. There are people who are still struggling because they can’t find a job. There are folks who are just barely able to make ends meet. And obviously those of us who are here, we’ve been incredibly blessed. But one of the great things about America and one of the great things about those who are in professional sports is we’ve all got cousins, uncles, family members who are still struggling and are a reminder that we have a lot more work to do.”

Well the president says he's going to buy a Volt so does that mean our gas prices are only going to get worse... :? Or is it the "lets pander to the union guys" speech... I did have to laugh when the secret service only let him drive the car 10' because of security concerns...Must have been a republican at the end of the line...

I wonder why we haven't got more cars running on natural gas? Boone Pickens does, it' cost him $1/gal.

Boone Pickens wants everyone to drive natural gas powered cars, because he practically cornered the market on natural gas. If America goes to natural gas cars he will own the world and turn Warren Buffett's house into a Kentucky Fried Chicken joint...

Pickens does have a point, however. If all long haul truckers were forced to run their big rigs on natural gas, America would import ZERO foreign oil...

I'm sorry, why do I always think of the Hindenburg when I read about cars and trucks running on LNG.

Not long ago Barack Obama accused Republicans of playing politics with gas prices:

“Only in politics do people root for bad news, do they greet bad news so enthusiastically,” Obama said before a crowd of students.

“You pay more and they’re licking their chops. And you can bet since it’s an election year, they’re already dusting off their three-point plans for $2 gas,” Obama said. “I’ll save you the suspense: step one is drill, step two is drill, and then step three is keep drilling.

“We heard the same line in 2007 when I was running for president,” Obama said. “We hear the same thing every year. We’ve heard the same thing for 30 years.”

And it continues that nothing, inclusive of gas prices, is his fault.

Things were different four years ago when Bush was President. Back then everything was Bush’s fault.

The logical way to decrease our dependence on foreign oil is to increase domestic production. While the left preaches lessening our dependence they actually are complicit in increasing it.
•In 1996, the Republicans controlled by the House and Senate. They approved a bill to allow drilling in ANWR but President Clinton vetoed the bill.
•In 2000 the House passed another bill to allow drilling in ANWR but in 2002 the Senate defeated it.
•In 2005 the Senate passed a bill to allow drilling in ANWR but included it in a budget resolution. The House removed the drilling feature after House democrats refused to pass the budget with the drilling addition.
•In another 2005 showdown, democratic senators filibustered a defense appropriations bill that included a drilling provision.
When he extended a 10 year drilling ban to protect US coastlines, Clinton said that drilling today won't make a difference for 10 years. This is the classic kick the can down the road disease that our politicians are infected with. Well here we are 10 years later, oil prices are soaring and the same liberal politicians who choked our domestic production for the past 15 years are crying that they are unfairly taking the blame for gas prices.

The Official Car Of The Obama Admin Continues To Dazzle: GM Tells Volt Owners They Need New Charging Cord…
    [IMG]
At least they fixed it before Obama bought his.

(USA Today) — Volt owners are getting another lesson in what it means to be on the cutting edge of auto mobility — many will need to bring their cars in for a beefier extension cord.

General Motors has announced it is replacing the cord and charging device that lets owners charge the car from a 120-volt household outlet, according to a report by Reuters.

GM spokesman Randal Fox told Reuters that the replacement for the charger that comes with the $40,000 car has a beefier cable and will “offer a more consistent charging experience,” though it won’t make it charge faster. The program covers all 2011 Volts and some 2012s — the 120-volt cords, 240-volt cords are not affected.

“It’s not a safety recall,” Fox said. “It’s more of a customer-satisfaction program.”

According to Consumer Reports, some Volt owners have complained that their 120-volt charger “overheats during use and have even documented online videos of melted 120-volt chargers.” CR said it has not had the problem in its testing of the car, which is on its “recommended” list.
