May the downforce be with you!

    Very cool.
Tom and cindy probably have the highest HP count of any garage in central Texas!

Cindy has already been challenged. I have no idea if you have heard of the Zombie 222 car. It was the brain child of Mitchell Medford in Central Texas. The car is a vintage fastback Mustang with all electric power. Instant torque and will be difficult at best to beat. It is a 12.1 second 1/4 mile car but the local 1/4 mile strip has gone belly up. 1/8 mile is all that is available and that gives the Zombie 222 the edge. 1/4 mile, Cindy's Hellcat should beat the Zombie 222 by about 1 second or more. With instant torque, 1/8 mile will be a close.

Break in mileage will be completed by 22-March. The race could come as early as 28-March.

Just ordered 305/35/20 Nitto 555R drag radials for Cindy's Hellcat. Sticky little devils so she should be ready to take on the Zombie 222. These are better tires than what I got for my Shelby... What I will be getting for the Shelby when I burn the Nitto 01's off. 8)

I get several automotive mags at the office and one of them in an editiorial at the front of the magazine said flat out that the time of the manual 6 speed gear box is over, that nobody should bother with it, it's inferior to the various modern options. Dead.

    Agree?

The assessment is accurate. However, the late 60s 427 Corvette is out classes in every way by modern muscle and there is a sector of the automotive enthusiasts that would consider anything else sub-par.

A true sports car has a stick.

With that said, Cindy's 8 speed automatic will out shift me and my Shelby's 6 speed every time. I am an excellent stick driver but nobody can shift like the new high tech automatics.

By the way... I took Cindy to the ER at 1am this morning. She has a kidney stone stuck between the right kidney and the bladder. If it does not pass by early tomorrow morning, she goes to surgery at 8am. :(

I've never had a kidney stone (Knock on wood). I know that they are very painful. I hope everything goes well and that she recovers quickly.

Aren't you the King of the Kidney Stones Tom? A title I'm sure you'd really rather not hold! ;)

    BTW:

Dodge is hitting the brakes on the “Hellcat” versions of the Challenger and Charger, suspending orders of the 707 hp muscle machines due to overwhelming demand. The two share the title of “most powerful American production car in history,” and boast top speeds of 199 mph and 204 mph, respectively.

Apparently the demand is out stripping the supply.

Actually, they halted orders. Production is in full swing. The minute I heard about this, I offered up our 1 week old Hellcat Charger for $200k. 8) 8) 8)

... and on the kidney stone issue: I have had my share and the share of about 50 others. I was just hoping that Cindy was in that group of 50 and would be spared this affliction.

Cindy spent two days in the hospital with a cystoscopy (actually called something else when the stone is between the kidney and bladder) on the 2nd day. The 8am schedule was delayed until 10:30 due to an OR Emergency. They were not able to get the stone so she was sent home with a stint hoping that it will pass. If it has not passed by Friday, they will schedule a repeat the same procedure for the following week hoping that the stint will dilate the area enough to get to the stone. If that is again unsuccessful, a more evasive procedure will be considered.
