Cindy and I just returned from a day of HazMat training and watching Pee Wee football here in Jarrell. Still 8 minutes left in the game but it appears that the game was over quite a while ago. Congrats to the Gators
Tough loss Tom, but the Gators look pretty good to me. Tebow seems very comfortable and reflected in his stats as well. Don
Tom, The Gator's ferocity on offense surprised me today even though I knew Meyer had all of these great skill weapons at his disposal. Tenn did everything I thought they would in the first half offensively except run the ball a little better and then for UF to shut out the Tenn offense in the second half surprised the crap out of me. This UF defense if it keeps playing like that will make Florida a strong favorite to win the SEC East.
Impressive win by the Gators, they are offically in the mix for the Nat'l Championship this is not a rebuilding year for UF ...it's reloading.
South Carolina at Columbia concerns me. I hope that game is not for the SEC East and then there is Kentucky who just knocked off #9 Louisville in a very exciting game. Life on the road in the SEC can be a real test and I expect the Gators to be tested big time and I expect a loss at LSU.
The only team in the SEC that has a chance against UF is LSU, the rest of the SEC sucks this year....not as bad as ND though.
Southern Cal and LSU do seem to be the clear favorites this. Everyone else has either lost to or struggled with an underdog. But hell, lets play out the season anyway and see what happens!
kp, I agree USC and LSU appear to be the cream of the crop, but I do not write off Florida or Oklahoma. Should be another interesting season of college football. Very surprised how the Utes manhandled UCLA. Also cost me dearly in the Skybox Contest! Don
Oklahoma and UF belong in the conversation with USC and LSU, those 4 are head and shoulders above everyone else right now. But kp is right, we have to let things play out, sometimes amazing things happen as the season moves on. Penn State/Mich next week is key for the Nit's. Win in Ann Arbor and they could springboard to an unbeaten season and be in the mix at the end. They get Ohio State at Happy Valley and Wisconsin giving up 31 points to the Citadel doesn't look like a juggernaut.
After having watched the replay of yesterday's game .... I'm not ready to annoint UF a top 4 team. They've done very well in 11.5 quarters of football in The Swamp against some good ...but probably not top-10 .... competition. I'll wait to see how they come out @ Ole Miss. On paper, they should win that game by a decent margin but, this will be the first away game for many of these young guys. If they roll in that game and then handle a surprisingly bad Auburn, I'll start to jump on that wagon.
"If they roll in that game and then handle a surprisingly bad Auburn, I'll start to jump on that wagon." Me too.....
