Florida marches it down the field but stalls and misses a field goal. We have a game! Tennessee then tries a little Spurrier trickery. Freshman to freshman... Taylor, a freshman wide receiver takes the end around, stops, and throws a pass to a wide open Coker, another fresman. TD Tennessee! Florida 7 Tennessee 10. 8 minutes left in the first half.
Two touchdowns negated by penalties. Florida has a punt return for a TD called back by a block in the back behind the play. Tennessee gets a interception return for a TD called back due to a blow to the head, roughing the passer. Three minutes left in the first half. Florida 7 Tennessee 10
Tennessee defense holds yet again to force a 47 yard FG attempt that went wide left. Tennessee offense will run the clock out to go into the clubhouse up by 3. At the half: Florida 7 Tennessee 10
I figured MCG's head was going to explode after James pt return was called back on the clip, then the next play Tenn gets the pick and takes it to the house. But just before explosion or implosion, the refs threw the flag on the blow to the head!
Sorta tit for tat on the the two TDs called back because of questionable penalties. However, and in light of that fact these refs are having a difficult time. A key F/U was when instead of 2nd and 5 on the 20 for UF just before they missed a 51 yard FG it was 2nd and 15 on the 30. The Tenn defender clearly rushed up and entered the neutral zone and you cannot do that anymore in the NFL or college. UF's O-lineman was called for movement instead. So far that one was a game turning call.
Tennessee defense holds on Florida's first possession of the second half to force a punt by sacking Leake back at the Florida 25 on 3rd and 9 from the Florida 35. Tennessee starts its first possession with the same score: Florida 7 Tennessee 10
I don't want to hear anything about the personal foul call. Thomas #44 gets up... punches a Tennessee man in the kidney and then knees him in the kidney while he is still on his knees. That was a very legit call by the official.
Absolutely the right call to take back the TD because his knee was down on the three yard line while the ball was at the 1 yard line. Good call Ref even though it may cost Tennessee 7 points.
I must have posted in the wrong topic. I thought not only was it legit but that Thomas should have been ejected from the game.
6:44 left in the 3rd. Tennessee Defense holds once again and Florida has to punt. Tennessee has the ball on their own 10 yard line. Florida 7 Tennessee 17
Florida's defense holds. Tennessee punts. I'll settle for a defensive struggle and the game have no further scoring!
Fla looks like crap but these refs are crappier and it's getting worse by the minute. Amazing how every close call goes against Fla and for Tenn. It gets very, very old.
Florida is looking good on this drive. ... except for the QB switcheroo that is. Florida scores a TD with 1:16 left in the 3rd. Florida 14 Tennessee 17
End of the 3rd period and the score remains: Florida 14 Tennessee 17 However, it appears that the Gator D is gaining steam. Tennessee has a 3rd and 7.5 to go from the Tennessee 25 yard line to start the 4th quarter.
