That was as exciting a game last night as we'll probably see this season. Auburn really came to play. I'm sure Florida will play a lot better at LSU this coming Saturday.

That was some good ball being played, regardless of who won.

I can only hope my Aggies can someday get back to that style!

I have to admit that I was glad the kid made the SECOND kick.

I kinda found it a little bit bush-league to call the TO as the ball was being snapped... I know the rules don't say anything about it, but it just didn't seem right to me.

I thought so as well. When someone tries something like that, I like seeing them fail. The only thing that would have made that second kick better would have been the first kick going wide right after Meyer pulled that stunt.

I lost 14 points on the Gators in the contest but it was worth it to see this young kicker overcome that stunt.

I love watching exciting games when you don't have a dog in the fight. No Michael Vick comments please! 8)

 8) What was that that COCOLOCO said about Tubs being fired???

....and MCG (good news knee procedures are 100% effective)...that the Swamp was buzzing and Caldwell came back??

Urban Meyer lost a lot of respect with that scoundrel move on the timeout for the FG try.....sure hope college teams don't adopt that strategy as its sleazy.

However, I am not convinced Tebow can't win at LSU next week....its either an LSU blowout or a close game with UF having a last second FG try that Les MIles nullifies with a timeout and UF's kicker misses on the second chance.....wouldn't that be a pisser !!!!

MCG...good luck with the knees...I suffered a similar fall from a slippery metal step last year...tore the meniscus in my left knee and ripped the quads in my right leg. At first the ortho guy thought the whole thing was due to my lousy knees...degenerative arthritis...but finally convinced him to go in with the scope and he found the torn meniscus and removed it...then it took a while but my knee is a bit better.

No doubt I am heading for a double replacement...as Gonz says they are really good now...but they keep getting better and that is reason to wait as long as you can.

    The best last night won.

I don't understand the consternation about the timeout call. That's done all the time to ice the kicker. And I'm not saying that because I am a Gator, I would say the same thing if it was done against us.

But no matter, this was a typical SEC game and typical SEC season.

MCG, I'm sorry you hurt you knee and hope you don't have to have the operation, but if you do keep us informed.

Bill I wasn't referring to icing the kicker, that is done all the time. Usually just after the team lines up in position

I was talking about the timing.
UM made darned sure he called it just as the center was snapping the ball.
It would have been poetic justice if he'd miss-timed it, or the ref didn't hear him say it at just that moment...

As I said, it's not illegal. Just kinda silly to me.

Scott, we'll just have to agree to disagree. In my opinion it's just part of the strategy of the game.

And if it was mis timed and not allowed that would just be part of the game also.

I think we get to carried away with this kind of analysis sometimes, a lot is at stake and teams will use whatever legal options are at their command.

But as I've said, the team that was better last night won and that's the way it is, the Gators now have to heal our wounds and get ready for LSU.

    MCG,

If you need any first hand info on knee surgeries up to and including replacement, I'm here for ya. I’ve had one ACL replacement, two “Scopes” in each knee, and finally the replacements in both.

Tough loss for the ol' orange and blue but the better team (and coaches) won that game on Sat evening. I thought the Gators were maybe going to have enuff luck to pull another from the fire but couldn't do it. Defense did well enuff vs the run but didn't match up and play vs Au as well as I'd hoped. IMO, this was an SEC game they needed to win in 2007.

MCG - Good luck with the knee and leg and hang tough. If you (k)need another opinion, you should come on down to the UF Ortho Inst for such!!

For all of those hatin' on Urban Meyer, just remember he's from Ohio and learned to coach at OSU and ND!! :D

    Go Gaterz!!!

BTW, how 'bout those Bulls ............ and the Dookies really tried to get one in S Fla; were within 3 points, twice in the 2nd half!!!!
