I would take Dan Mullen. Has had successful offenses and Qbs in the rugged SEC West..... and coached on a national championship team with Meyer at UF.
I've read reports of Frost putting his own funds into the Athletics facilities at UCF. That isn't to say he can't be bought, but it's going to cost someone a lot of money. You took a risk on a DC and canned him. You hired a coach with experience and tremendous success as a OC, he won the East twice with the players that the previous guy couldn't get to line up right... and you fired him. You need a home run hire or you're going to be in a world of sh*t for a while because Georgia is only going to get better.
I remember when Tailback was a poster and he complained every year that the Fla/Ga game was in Jacksonville and that made it a home game for the Gators and advocated for a home/home schedule. If UGA gets on a roll I wonder if the Dawg fans will be happy with sticking with Jacksonville.
If Smart keeps things rolling in recruiting, they can play that game on the moon and it's not going to matter.
I think having the game in Jax is actually beneficial to UGA from a recruiting standpoint and I think Atlanta is closer to Jacksonville than Miami is. I was watching the game the other day and you could actually see the exact seat where the division in ticket sale was. My son-in-law and I talked about the distinct demarcation between the school colors was.
It's the same for the Cotton Bowl for Oklahoma/Texas 50% of the tickets go to each school. Each school gets 50yd line around to the opposite 50 yd line. With both school having expanded stadiums and the Cotton Bowl not exactly in the best section of Dallas there has been a smattering of talk of taking it to a home/home but I doubt anything will come out of it. It's one of those embedded traditions. They like playing in the Cotton Bowl as well even though Jerry Jones tried very hard to get them to move it to Jerry World. But the city of Dallas enlarged and spiffed up the old girl and I think it'll be there along with the State Fair for the foreseeable future. Now if the State Fair were to ever move...all bets are off.
I think I made that post during the Georgia vs Florida game. I don't why it showed up again the other day. :?
