Tom, you are comparing apples and oranges. I could care less what Dave said, I know what the announcers said and what they meant. Corey takes any opportunity when he might not like what Dave says to take shots at the whole Gator Nation. If you don't notice that then I don't think you are paying attention. In short I get tired of Corey using MCG as an excuse to pile on the Gators. If he has a problem with what Dave says address that. It would be easy enough to attack Notre Dame fans and paint them with Corey's Gator bias but I refuse to do that. Corey on the other hand does it in reverse on a regular basis. It's his right I guess but it would be nice to hear a Gator discussion from him where he didn't take shots. Asking to much I guess.
Bill took offense to my locking of this topic so here it is back again people. Please prove me wrong and find a civil end to this.
Tom, where did I say anything negative about Alabama? I am just speaking the truth and you know it.......KP knows it.....anyone with any knowledge of college football knows it that has the cahones to admit it. KP....just go out and do it again....beat the snot out of Texas and prove me wrong.
MCG, There you go again. Alabama has already proved you wrong. Florida doesn't win if Alabama loses. Florida doesn't win if Alabama wins. Florida had it's shot and they got beat. It wasn't a fluke. Two very good teams met on the field and the better team won. Alabama has moved on to its next game and it has nothing to do with it's last game.
Dave doesn't have it in him to admit defeat to a superior team. This topics shelf life has been exceeded.
I'm very confident Alabama had the better team that day in Atlanta. I'm also very confident that they didn't see Florida's best effort/execution on the field. I'm not confident at all about the NCCG vs. Texas because of the above. I don't think the Florida game is the best way to judge Alabama's talent and capability heading into the game with Texas and about 99% of the media shares those same views because of item #2 above. The betting public has been thinking the same thing as the line has moved a whole point at least toward Texas....one line I saw has it down to -3.5. That's a very big movement in the betting line and there are underlying reasons for that.....most of which is the performance of Nebraska and Florida in their respective bowls but for the same reasons shown different ways. Nebraska looks a bit tougher after their big win over Az and it was apparent to almost everyone in sports ( the exception being Skybox members  ) that the UF-Bama result was a little misleading as well.
Husker, Don't be a pansy Bill, ********. I praised what you guys did. I honestly did. Other people HAVE seen this and have written me saying as much. They have just written you guys off as so irrational when it comes to your team that it can't be touched or talked about. Why do you have to be #1 so bad? My only point is that it was a stupid statement by Fox to make because you can't truly quantify those things. What Florida did (and I will type this real slow and bold for you guys so maybe you will get it this time) is truly a streak of greatness. It is truly one of the great classes in the history of the SEC and all college football. It was a wonderful run and you guys have every reason to be proud of what took place these last four years!!! I don't know how many more (get your red ink out Tom) edited times I have to say that... My contention was that when you start twisting stats to increase your legacy... then maybe it wasn't much of a legacy at all..
ps Husker, I'll take a Holiday Bowl DVD. I really haven't watched much football at all this bowl season and would like to see how badly Nebraska thumped Zona vs Zona mailing it in.
You hit the nail on the head Corey.....it was Fox.....not us Gator fans here that brought that stat and subsequent debate up.
I edited it Corey. Thanks for the compliment, however it still doesn't hurt anyone to point out how many games we won over the last four years. And I don't know where you get the idea that I have to be number one, that simply isn't true. Have a great day.
Bill, since there supposedly is an unindentified cabal of e-mailers who agree with Corey's charge of irrationality, just a short note to let you know that I find nothing wrong with your comments. I have no problem with people hurling objects back at a sharpshooter in the peanut gallery....
Thanks, Sid, and a Happy New Year to you! I was going to make a resolution to quit smoking but on the drive back from Michigan to Wisconisn, the Hoosier discount tobacco stores overcame my willpower....
I thought you were kidding Sid, so I google Butt Hut and sure enough, there is a chain of places clalled Butt Hut. I see there are a couple in Indiana. One in Michigan City, and one in Fremont. I wonder which one snared Bobda!
No, there used in be two Butt Hutts-one in Angola and the other in Michigan City but they closed the BH in MC. My drive was the shoreline, Winter white knuckler from Ludington to Milwaukee so my stop was in Michigan City. Is there a nice section in Michigan City other than the outlet mall which my wife loves? Did the town founders decide to name the town Michigan City because of its lack of charm? Indiana has some great small towns and Indianapolis is probably one of the nicest big cities in the Midwest but the cities that border in lake Michigan are pretty sad. Given Michigan's budgetary problems, your guv could probably trade Gary, MC and cash for Mackinac Island and Petoskey and a city to be named later.
The Butt Hut in Fremont/Angola is close to our lake place. It's the first cigarette retailer in Indiana that southbound Michiganders see when traveling on I-69. I believe that Bobda used to stop there on his trips to Bloomington. Bobda, I'm afraid that what you see is what you get in Michigan City. There is a stretch of expensive and attractive lakefront homes east of the city and a more secluded lakefront community/state park/public beach west of the city, but the city proper and surrounding neighborhoods leave much to be desired in terms of beauty and ambiance. It's a shame that with the natural beauty of the lakefront, the thing that's most visible as you approach from any direction is the nuclear facility tower. The outlet mall is one of the nicer ones you'll find. I've bought three pair of Rockport shoes there over the years.
I know of a place called The Butt Hut in Detroit on 8 mile road.....oh....maybe that's a different deal...... 8)
