    MCG,

When you post an article, it is presumed that you agree unless you state otherwise. It does not make sense that you would search out and post articles contrary to your views. That is why the presumption is logical.

If you post something on which you have an opposing view, state that in the post. Otherwise, you are posting your own beliefs and might as well be the author.

Just a little analogy on the previous post MCG... I could do research and come up with an article that, oh let's say KP wrote that states: "MCG uses dog turds for under arm deodorant.” Now if I leave it at that, the skybox membership would believe that I think the same way. Now I could add: “I don’t believe this but I have a source that states he uses Secret (made for a woman) roll on.” Now the membership knows that I don’t believe the dog turd story. They may have a snicker or two over the secret, but that’s another story all together! ;)

MCG I want to make it very clear that I did not say that you use dog turds for deodorant. Now being an Alabama fan I do naturally hate everything about Florida and their fans but I draw the line at accusing you of using dog turds.....now come to think of it ..no..no never mind.

Well....given the inordinate sensitivities of the Notre Dame fans here I will henceforth refrain from posting articles from those far out, nondescript online pubs like CNNSI and College Football News.

From now on if the article is not in that bastion of truth... Blue and Gold... it will not make here on Skybox.....

    "Good point on WF Corey.

The hype machine I refer to is certainly present in the media.

On the fan side maybe it's the unending "we're better than you may think" attitude that seems like hype after quite a few letdowns...especially in BCS bowls as of late.

Most of the time I personally don't think the Irish are as good as you guys think but I don't base that on negative feelings for ND or "wishing" ND to be bad.

I just sometimes tend to be more realistic in my assessment of the Irish as the season progresses and it becomes apparent just what kind of team they and their opponents are.

I am sure that I lean to the positive side on the Gators also but I am the first to admit it when they are mediocre (Zook) and are not performing up to Gator fan standards (Zook).

Not so sometimes with you guys on the Irish."

    Tom....Sid...et..al

If the above post by me as a response to "explain" myself is your idea of flaming and a classless post then there is no hope here for reasonable conversation.

MCG... You don't get it. I simply state that you should post how you feel about the articles you put up and your response is to stop posting anything that does not come from ND. To me, that is not getting it!

Read again Tom...I did post how I feel about these articles when asked or prompted and it seems that if I don't bleed Blue and Gold then my opinion is not acceptable here even though it may in fact be similar to that of the national media types whose article I have posted.

    Perplexing and frustrating.

Your point was that you were being treated as the author of the posts. Mine was: Post how you feel in the original post. I don't remember one post that was done that way.

You post articles that border on insulting without stating your view. Then when called out, you say: Who me... little innocent me?

I guarantee that if I post something contraversial about Florida, good or bad, I will post whether I agree or disagree with what is being said. I will not wait to see which way the wind blows before making it known whether I agree or not.

"It does seem he is fervent in his negativity on the Irish but I think that may be a response to the hype machine that the Irish are also all about.....by their very nature as a team followed all across America by the "subway" alumni and media."

Posted within 2 1/2 hours of the original post.

This is what made it more personal and somehow, eventually as always dragged Florida into it.

C'non MCG, give in and join the rest of us supplicant, domesticated, state school zombies. Why fight this solitary battle. Join us! Slavery means freedom! Let your eyes follow the ticking watch and repeat after me.

we are unworthy...we are fans of state schools without a history....only you know what true glory is...we will never see the heights you have seen ...we are unworthy...

Geez, did we have to see photos of the warmups for the Naked Mile? Looks like some of the freshmen still need directions at to the proper attire.

I think you two may be on the road to recovery. Step 1 is acknowledgement of your problem which, in this case, is that you are not worthy. Now that you've isolated your problem, go to work on it.

A man's reach should never exceed his grasp. A man's got to know his limitations. Live within yourselves.

    Good for you guys.

Yeah George...I just didn't realize the extent of my predicament before it was so acutely illustrated by Bobda.

Now that I understand I will fully comply...

    "MCG,

When you post an article, it is presumed that you agree unless you state otherwise. It does not make sense that you would search out and post articles contrary to your views. That is why the presumption is logical.

If you post something on which you have an opposing view, state that in the post. Otherwise, you are posting your own beliefs and might as well be the author.

Tom, in principle I agree with this statement however the precise way that these articles are written and the criticisms or plaudits levied are from the authors...not me.

I find it newsworthy when sports publications voice their opinions good or bad on teams, players or coaches.

I don't always agree verbatim with what is said but certainly there are times when I may agree more than other times.

So when I post an article...it is what it is and should be taken that way.

It is not however a precise reflection of my views....but it could be.

    Be nice MCG.

By the way, tarpon are now really on the flats around Cedar Key. From what I've heard, guides have been finding some "reel cleaners". Looks like we'll finally get a chance to chase a few over the next 9 days.

    Thanks for the Tarpon update.

Dang it...wish I was there now.

Let me know if you go after a few.
