Did you see the play I'm talking about Corey? Wazzu turns it over and Air Force does what they do, run the damn ball! 17-7 Flyboys and they will get the ball to start the 2nd half. Wazzu does have 1:12 left in the 1st half to get a score, which they could do.
yup...Air Raid does what it does...score quickly! 17-14 going to halftime. It was close though, Wazzu kid almost didn't complete the catch.
T, I saw it! I have no idea what they were thinking. They've been aided though by 2 failed 4th down attempts by Wazzu when they just could have kicked the FG and taken the points. If this bowl game was a drinking game of 'what are they doing?' we'd be well drunk by now.
Clemson may feel disrespected but good luck wrestling with Ohio State tonight. You know I don't molly coddle and mince words.... when a conference or it's individual teams suck I don't prop them up here on Skybox and I have been brutally honest about Ohio State and the Big 10 in general in the past but man the Big Ten looks pretty damned good in this bowl season and I would be concerned if I were a fan of Alabama, Auburn, Clemson etc......
I was telling Boondock that with so much talent on both teams on both sides of the ball it could end up being a very boring game. I'd certainly prefer that to our last debacle against Clemson.
Didn't make it to the 2nd half of the Wazzu/Air Force game but I see the Flyboys RB Remsberg who had great game, made a spectacular 4th down play to put them up 2 scores 31-21. That was the final score. USAFA as always dominated time of possession 43-17 and ran for almost 400 yds. Leach went for it on 4th down a lot and missed a lot. Some FG's might have made a difference.
OSU/Clemson...which team will have the biggest chip. Clemson for being disrespected according to Dabo or Ohio State for being ranked higher but still being the underdog.
BT’s initial matchups were to their advantage. In the next few days, all the match ups are much tougher ( with the possible exception of Penn State) so we will get a better gauge of the strength of the conference.
Happy for the Iowa fans. Like fans of other B10 teams, they have more than a few bad memories of debacle bowl games against PAC 10 teams so there are a lot of ear-to-ear grins in Hawkeye land today over the way they mauled and manhandled USC. On the other hand, USC fans probably are both homicidal and suicidal about the state of their program. Soft team, crap coaching, miserable recruiting class, and opening their season in 2020 against an Alabama team loaded with 5 star talent plus Saban and a big chip on its shoulder.
I just don't know about Clemson. I have seen OSU against quality opposition, and they are very good on both sides of the ball, so Clemson better be the real thing to win this. As far as Alabama, I am always concerned but especially this year. We don't have the defense to cover offensive mistakes and turnovers. I'm not optimistic that they will change for the better in the bowl game.
I took the wife to see Robert Earl Keen last night, so didn't get to see any of the Texas Bowl until this morning when I got to check the highlights. For as badly as things started... I'm encouraged that the kids didn't give up, and kept plugging. Always nice to end the year on a positive note. We need to get the OL whipped into shape, and run Mond more... Ready for 2020!
Memphis gave Penn State a game for awhile. Nit's win going away though, 53-39. PSU ran the ball very well apparently. Stats were all pretty close, but almost 400 yards rushing for Penn State was the story.
I lost points when I fell for Scott's pregame information, and changed my pick to Oklahoma State....should have known better than to trust an Aggie!
