    Terry,

The heading of the youtube video says the ad was banned. We saw it here in Indy on election night. It's creepy.

Sid, I noticed that also but don't know specifics. Creepy indeed and a real issue to be sure...

On a side - but somewhat related - note, our mutual friend has come down for a week-long visit from for some much deserved and needed R & R. Chatted briefly last night, is selling his house down here, heading up for meetings with his new colleagues next week and then looking forward to beginning his new job in January....we will miss them as neighbors, but thankful he's in his new position. He's a good man....

Here's another.....a real issue needing a tough solutions....soon. Take note of the riots in London today by students protesting necessary austerity measures.....the longer we delay in addressing the challenges, the more difficult the problem becomes. Personally, I just don't think it responsible to defer the pain and thrust it in ever greater portions on the back of our children....but I am aware that there are those that would prefer to do just that.....

    Think of it this way.

Many older Americans have had their retirement income placed in jeopardy by the magnitude of this recession....most especially those aging Americans who have experienced job loss as a result.

It's next to impossible in this economy for a 50 something to start over at the level of compensation they were at before the recession if they haven't been able to maintain their previous positions and income.

Toss in a wipe-out of home equity and voila.....you have millions of Americans nearing retirement age that stand a very good chance of coming up short when it's time to retire.

I see a burden coming either way.

Without your usual personal attacks what would you see as a possible solution?

How about bitch and moan incessantly while blaming others and then ask the Chinese to lend you the money and force somebody else pay it back since there is a "very good chance of coming up short when it's time to retire"......I'm not sure it will work for ya but I gotta give ya an "A" for effort.....

I'm with Krebsie, go cry on somebody else's shoulder.....there is no reasoning with you.

You're in the same boat with tens of millions of others. In my opinion, because of what has happened and will happen the traditional rules will change for everybody. Do your best, work hard, live within your means and be creative.

Thank you George....for a reasonable response instead of the alternative smack that BT provides.

That approach has been my resolution for most of my life but I have turned it up a few notches in the past 22 months since the nasty surprise I received in December of '08.

In the meantime.....I am doing all of those things in Florida which isn't all bad.

52 mini-vacations a year is how I look at it.

At some point in the future if I live long enough your solution won't be enough and that is my concern and is why I hold such a strong opinion on receiving benefits for which I have paid dearly over the many years I have worked.

I don't see this as an "entitlement" issue because of that investment of income.....regardless of whether or not it was voluntary.

Welcome to Walmart......have you seen our specials? !!

Dave, since you lost your job, you have been whining continuosuly about your issues in life blaming it on the GOP. In the beginning, many here including myself were sympathetic to your plight. After a while, it gets old. The only reason I haven't been adding to the "smack" is that I got tired of listening to it a while ago. BT took um my slack when he returned to the boards.

IF you had prompted discussions in the beginning rather than just whining and pointing fingers, maybe, just maybe, things would be different now.
