The point is this......Who is giving her the flak? And Why are they doing it? In spite of your efforts to believe the contrary, the only people responsible for her getting flak are those that are giving it to her....period. You started this thread to make the point that only the only way the GOP gets elected is to rally stupid people to do something stupid and only the conservative right is so capable.....the defense rests. I'm out....
Another train of thought is the feelings of other contestants who are giving it their all and expect to be judged on their performances. If that isn't happening then that isn't cool either. BT you do raise an interesting concept. Let's call what is happening to Bristol the "Rick Scott" phenomena. No matter the qualifications or in his case what should be "disqualifications" he gets elected anyway by......hmmmmm.....people that couldn't care too much about his qualifications or his past as long as he is wearing the GOP label. I suspect in the long run that Rick Scott is wearing the "Rick Scott" label more than anything else.
I would suggest that those famous conservative names "Charlie Rangel" or "Marion Barry" would be more appropriate and no doubt many, many other GOP icons before them.  You are blinded by your biases, inflammatory and constantly combative on here.....there is no use in me continuing a discussion on this topic. Perhaps others will take you up on it.....
Dude all of these contests are driven by the audience voting by text or other ways. I don't know what you expect, you really think the public only votes on talent alone and is qualified to judge that talent. It's a joke that anybody see's ominous signs around the voting in these things.
Right you are Terry. I suppose Bristol has nothing to be upset about then because it doesn't matter how she dances and she should know that going in. BT, just like plenty of GOP members before and after them Rangel and Barry were indeed guilty of some serious shenanigans after getting elected. It's one thing to fall by the wayside after taking office but quite another to be elected with a shady past hovering over your resume before the election as Scott did.
I think this guy's nickname should be "Slick Rick": http://www.newsmax.com/InsideCover/Rick-Scott--Bill-McCollum--governor--Florida/2010/08/11/id/367220 The largest medicare fraud case in US history even to this date and Scott walks away from that same company with a personal fortune of 310 million dollars....60 million of which he used to advertise his way into the governor's mansion. I dunno....I am dumbfounded people can defend this guy much less vote for him.
Hmmmmm.....am I the only one shocked that the Gator completely ducked the Marion Barry issue? I'm dumbfounded I tell ya, dumbfounded.....
LOL...I guess if the media is making something out of it then she probably is right to feel bad. The media wouldn't dare imply that a black contestant was getting a block vote from black viewers who were not critically evaluating their skills just voting black. And yes any contestant in something like that should know going in that part of their vote will be on things other than their talent. The voting viewers will like her or not for any number of reasons. That this is even an issue is laughable.
The whole Bristol-DWTS thing is very wacky if you ask me. But then again I don't watch such wackiness to begin with. On Barry....that is most unusual he was re-elected but I have no clue of those circumstances. He obviously made it a "personal" issue from which he was "rehabilitated". On Rick Scott.....I guess voters who voted for him overlooked his questionable past and lack of political experience because he "was so darned cute" with that bald head and that god-blessed GOP leanin heart of his.
The above is a classic example of why it is absolutely pointless to attempt to have a rational discussion with you......you have no interest in having a rational dialogue. None.....the only interest you have is to pursue and provide a platform your personal agenda, no matter how unreasonable, independent of the facts.....
"What if he turns out to be an excellent Gov of Fla?" Well....since he is in there I sure as hell hope so. I am hoping I can eat my words and praise the guy. Right now he has zero political track record but he has shown he can amass a huge personal fortune in the healthcare industry.....an industry that has ballooned out of control with high costs.....hmmmmmm.....for some mysterious reason.  8) Oh...and by the way I remember thinking at the time that Barry getting re-elected was a joke....still do.
So, are you admitting that your first statement above is just inflammatory bullsh!t and that the Libs just may have some groups that vote more with their heart rather than their head???? Obviously, unless of course you think it wise to elect into office a drug addict, convicted of federal crimes and whose long list of residences include a federal penitentiary.....and you wonder why people think you're full of sh!t.
I didn't exclude the Dems from being afflicted with this style of voting and in Barry's case I did say it was a joke. ( see above )
But yet you incessantly hammer the right on this issue as if they were somehow unique in that respect....it's just nonsense.
Back to Bristol Palin. I have watched this show off and on for years. As with all of these type shows, the public does not always vote in lockstep with the judges. Many times on American Idol the best performer did not win, usually losing out to the most likeable. Perhaps this is the case here. Palin has zero training in dance. Jennifer Grey is a pro and probably shouldn't be on here to begin with and Brandy is a professional singer/ dancer as well. Rather than look at this politically, which is sad and laughable at once, maybe the audience is giving her a boost against two seasoned professional entertainers.
With all of that George she needs to let the criticism roll off....knowing that such bias is bound to exist.
