Ralph, if you want us to view your video, change the status from private to unlisted. The term "unlisted" means that only people with the link can see the video. I do this for family videos that I don't want to be public, but I want members of the family to see.
Got it...It should work now, thanks Sid I thought I tabbed that button...I'm kind of embarrassed because I just threw it out there without any editing which I know nothing about. But for my first attempt at uploading anything on you-tube it will have to do...
Very cool! I watched the entire video. A few questions: -I assume the irregular bodies of water are natural, and the straight canals are man-made. How do you get the water to the massive acreage? - Is the structure beneath the shade trees with the grass yard in front your home? -What kind of fruit trees was I seeing? -Is that your son standing next to you? I'm impressed with your inventory of machinery. I'm guessing I was seeing a small part of it.
Nothing is natural outside the Laurel oak trees by my office (mobile home), in fact the oak hammock was where the cow pens existed for the original 30,000 acre cattle ranch 50 years ago....There is in fact a building from 1894 to the north of us where Cowboys worked cattle in this area....We are proudly in the boonies and would have have it no other way... No my home is 45 miles away in Lake Placid Florida, I could live here but I hear divorce is somewhat expensive. You are viewing red grapefruit trees, Valencia, Hamlin trees and two varieties of peaches. We have 14 varieties of citrus and three varieties of peaches.... No, that is my drainage and Irrigation man, he is in charge of 38 power units, 575 irrigation valves and 15 pumps used to drain the water off the property. We have an estimated $475,000 of machinery in place on this farming investment. In the scheme of things we are middle of the road to upper crest in farming acreage. We have 2,640 acres on four square sections or 8 square miles around the property. The big boys (around six of them) have 12,000 to 50,000 acres....They are all Bull Gator devotees....
That's a huge expanse, 8 square miles. It's amazing to think the the "big boy farms" are 5 to 20 x bigger,
Lol, yeah we are just a flea on the big dogs back compared to the big boys, it's unfortunate most farms have gone corporate these days, it helps to have skin in the game....The thought process is more intimate and personal. Compared to the Midwest farming ventures our big farms are not even worth mentioning....I read recently that in 20 years 80% of all drone usage will be in Agriculture.
Impressive Ralph, your drone control is precise to say the least. Even the Russian Judge gave you a 10 on that landing!
I was reading that you are most likely going to have to register with the FAA. They haven't got the whole thing in place yet, but supposedly will have it by December, and then everybody will have to register their drones. What I wonder is how they will define a drone. I mean if i have a 9 y/o with a RC Piper Cub will that be a drone and he'll have to register it?
It's my understanding the registration for drones will be based on the height capability of the machine. This will probably be any drone capable of going higher than 400 feet. My machine is programmed to not go higher than 400 feet but it can be overridden to go higher at the touch of a keypad. I watched a video out of Turkey where he flew his drone identical to mine up to 4,800 feet. But as I am not very fond of anything associated with government I went ahead and ordered a second drone ahead of the spoken regulations just so I wouldn't have to worry about such horseshit. Without a doubt there is a need to control airspace in certain areas such as airports and high security areas because those lacking functioning brain cells will ruin it for others and the bad elements will want to plan something dangerous. I laughed the other day as a helicopter pilot from the L.A. police department gave testimony that a 2 lb drone could bring his helicopter down with great conviction. As a person who has regularly flown in small planes for 30 plus years I say screw a small drone I am more concerned about the 10 lb Buzzard approaching me...But the media has hold of this now and the politicians love a great sound bite so Wala we have more regulations on the way. It keeps our minds off the news that would be really newsworthy in the process...
Terry I forgot to respond to your comment on my landing in the one video as it was indeed artful and done with skill  But the honest truth is it came mighty close to giving me an unwanted vasectomy and I realized that I probably need a bit more space between me and what I hold dear....
Oh yeah, new Persian lime block getting prepped for bedding, planting date in May...Probably in all honesty too cold for limes but need to take the chance to somehow get ahead of the disease that is afflicting us, I have trialed limes for 5 years and they seem resistant compared to other citrus...
I like your train of thought, that would be a great tool...This photo was taken last week by one of my employees....He shot three, skinned out two and we put one on the grill and had a cookout while the Italian investor was in the States...
Too bad he didn't have a few more "guns" with him... they could have dropped the whole bunch. I was out at my wife's property yesterday to get familiar with my new hog eliminator, and afterward we walked some areas where the hogs have rooted up large sections. Luckily our land is not used for agriculture. I wish I would have taken some pictures... you guys would have a better understanding of just how destructive these pigs are. (I know Ralph doesn't need to be told!).
I just picked up a Ruger AR15 to help reduce the population a little more, I'm convinced that they will be here long after we have left this earth though....What kind of "New hog eliminator" did you happen to come by Scott  It's hard to describe the destruction they can accomplish in only one night to drainage, crops and pretty much everything...I curse Hernando Desoto for bringing them with him 500 years ago...If history is correct or at least what I've been taught, the first swine set foot on the New World about 35 miles west of me in Charlotte Harbor as Desoto met the Calusa Indians.... Damn immigrants, where was the wall when you needed one.... This is an oldie but still my all time favorite let's kill a hog video...I believe Texas is the location...Yeah, I'm slightly twisted.. http://youtu.be/jGYCHfyOty4
