Apparently his work is in the crosshairs of the Cancel Culture. Joe has omitted him from national 'Read Across America Day ". I am holding firm with my long standing prediction that Joe doesn't make it until his first Christmas in his current residence.
He's got a card that he carrys with him. I wonder who wrote it for him? I wonder who's actually running this country. No, I take that back. We know who's getting their way. The sad thing is we're watching it happen with nothing more than a dropped jaw.
Yeah it's more of the cancel culture. The publisher has taken these 6 books out of print and I imagine that libraries all across the country will at min be removing these from their shelves, if not all of the Dr.Seuss books. I don't really remember if we had any of them in the house growing up, but certainly as evidenced by Michelle Obama reading them to kids, he was a beloved childrens author. While we'll never know, but I wonder if somebody had asked Ms. Obama that day if she thought that some of Dr. Seusses books were racist she'd have given you that "are you crazy" look. But that's where we are these days people looking and digging for any perceived racist content. That's why we have school districts in the Bay Area taking Jefferson's name off of schools. Nobody said much when they took away Speedy Gonzales cartoons. Tom and Jerry's old cartoons are banned (too much violence). Sanitize it all!!
You have to read "The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich" to study the playbook for what we are seeing now.
(CNN)Oh, the places Dr. Seuss books will go after they ignite controversy. This week, Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced that six books penned by the children's author will no longer be published because of the "hurtful and wrong" ways characters of color are portrayed. Now, Dr. Seuss books have soared to the top of Amazon's bestseller list, occupying nine out of the marketplace's top 10 books. No. 1? "The Cat in the Hat," followed by "One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish" and "Oh, the Places You'll Go!"
Speedy Gonzalez and Pepe Le Pew were cancelled as well. Somewhere out their roam adults who are so insecure that they feel threatened by cartoon characters.
Yeah, but what about Speedy's cousin?? Anybody who remembers him knows why he has double the reason to be worried!
