People wince at truth that hurts it seems and I am just saying that another blowout loss and OSU will be hard pressed to beat out equal contenders from other major conferences for the BCS title game in the next few years. What about that statement are you convinced would not be true? I think the point is going to be moot anyway.......we shall see. How about this question....do you think LSU would blow out USC? If OSU does in fact get completely outclassed I think we need to re-evaluate schedule toughness and it's impact on selecting the NC game contenders in the future since we don't have a playoff.
oh yes <t>we do need to do that anyway.<br/> <br/> this bullspit about the super conferences getting brownie points for playing title games has gotta go... rewarding teams for playing regional schedules that rely on conference reputation to get them thru..<br/> <br/> but the whole premise is still crap..and my point remains..it doesn't diminish what OSU has done. This system sucked a mile of penis long before this season ever started.. this game won't define the system sucking. It does that all on its own...also, assuming all you are saying is true... the best you can hope for in this thread is that you've cheapened your own title.</t>
Hey...last year OSU sported a 12-0 record.....had just come off winning the "Game of the Century" vs. unbeaten #2 Michigan and the Bucks had the Heisman winning Sr. Qb at the helm plus a schedule rating that was much higher ranked and included a road win at Texas. Between the two Ohio State teams heading into the game last year's team was a no brainer while who knows about this year's team. Corey...it's funny how you go on about us Gator fans making everything about Florida and you never can resist turning it that way yourself.
MCG, throughout this whole bowl season you have been a good guy as opposed to a lot of the stuff you did last year. Now right at the end you want to argue, and that's even after you took Ohio State and the points and picked them to win here. Lighten up guy and smell the roses. George, I don't recall hearing much from Gonzo since we started locking his BS topics about Notre Dame. It seems to me that Gonzo is only around when Miami is doing well or he has one of his targets to ridicule. I know some of you miss him, as a moderator I do not. MCG, hows the leg doing now that you have the cast off? Are you in therapy? I have my Dr appointment tomorrow, icy roads caused us to have to cancel my appointment last week.
Not I. It's like an entertaining TV show that goes off the air. It's fun to watch, but life goes on nicely without it.
We've all heard the same story before. Remember when the Bills were considered losers because they didn't win Super Bowls. Never mind how they got there, a lot of people look at them like they were the laughingstock of the NFL.
Buckeyes Undeserving of National Scorn Yeah, you're right, MCG...lose this game and the hotair blowhards will be all over us.
Stu....that article underscores what "could" happen if the Buckeyes lose big tonight and that's what I am saying. I am just writing what is likely to be the case with the national media....don't throw me under the bus because of it. If OSU competes well then as I have said the argument is moot......but it does highlight the pressure facing OSU tonight. The problem is that this is for the National Championship. Laying eggs in this game is a whole lot different animal than laying eggs in a regular BCS Bowl game. ND gets a pass and Okla gets a pass as at large BCS Bowl teams in the future for their recent bowl foibles but this one final game gets the most media scrutiny and the selection process is way way different for the NC game than other BCS bowl games. Bill....my brace is off ( my decision ) and I am getting around quite well although a little stiff at times and always with caution. Seeing the doc tommorrow so hopefully he agrees that I did the right thing. I will let you know.
MCG, how stiff was/is the leg after taking the brace off. I am wondering how long it will take be to be able to get the leg to bend a reasonable amount after the brace is off.
LMAO <r><QUOTE><s> </e></QUOTE> Not so. You've been taking this fence sitting passive/aggressive approach throughout the bowls...and now you are taking a position that can only have two results:<br/> <br/> 1. You are right, and Ohio State sucks... You say you aren't here to scorn OSU fans and the only other tangible benefit to proving that point would be to diminish the Gators NC from a year ago.. because there is no other benefit to travelling the road you are on...<br/> <br/> or<br/> <br/> 2. You are full of sh*t.</r>
This bowl season we've to a great degree been able to stay away from insulting each other, not completely I know, let's don't let it get out of hand now.
booooo <t>I'm not insulting him, those are the 2 possible outcomes to that theory. Is there a 3rd I am missing?</t>
Corey....simply put I have more reserve than you and can discuss/debate without insulting you. You will learn eventually to do that. The other scenario you fail to acknowledge is the big M....the media. They are the ones that will beat this subject to death should OSU lose big...did I not start this off with an article from Mandel of Sports Illustrated?
Corey I understand how you feel because I get somewhat anti-Big Ten since I am surrounded by it up here in Michigan and you get a little anti-SEC I am sure being surrounded by SEC faithful there in Bama. Only difference is that your neighbors are dead on right and mine are dead wrong. 8)
oh no <t>I didn't care for this stuff when I lived in CA.<br/> <br/> Its actually not an 'anti-SEC' thing so much as it is a 'pro college football' thing. I think this current system is a sham. I've said it from day one. Its proven to be every bit the unstable nightmare that I knew it would become.<br/> <br/> <br/> And as for reserve... if that is what you like to call your 'win win' fence sitting position leading up to the title game, more power to you.</t>
