I kinda feel like ole Crop Duster with all of his continuous posts about his beloved Illini a few years back but there is a major....major difference.

The Gators are causing a national stir by winning the BB NC last spring....the football NC a couple of weeks ago and looking like the number 1 recruiting class in FB as well.

    And now this......

For Florida....the hits just keep on coming.

I'll bet ya $20 that UNC either goes farther than UF or wins it all.

    LOL...

Dave, the major difference is that poor 'ol Cropduster regaled us with article after article about all things Illini...during good times and bad...'cuz he just wanted Illlinois information posted and available.

Fla's recent success has turned you on like a busted firehydrant.

It does seem to me that as long as FSU is in the dumpster that you guys will really shine with recruiting instate.

But correct me if I'm wrong that Miami has pretty much lived and died with So. Fla recruiting in Dade County and the surrounding area. I seem to remember that even Spurrier decided it wasn't really worth the effort to go down there. So I would think that Miami will either make it back with Shannon on coaching, or not. It won't be a recruiting issue, they have those kids for the most part.

I just don't know what's happening with/at fsu. Seems they have lost their edge a bit in recruiting. We'll see how they do with the new OC and o-line coach as this has been a problem area for the last 3 years. Also, Amato is back and he was a good recruited for them in the past.

Miami is a bit of an unknown as Shannon is a new HC. Miami will still pull many players from Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties as they just want to play for "the u". And, I think he's going to pull a few guys back to Miami in 2007 - with UF commit Van Dyke being one. It will be interesting to see if Shannon can get Miami back to a position of choosing from the best players in that area.

Stu I think there is just an overabundance of national stuff for me to post about Florida these days.

I certainly don't have to scrounge to find articles.

    It's everywhere you look.....and I like to look. :D

UNC just dismantled AZ in Tucson today. Heels are looking real good going into March.

    UNC wins impressively.

Fortunately, Gators squeek out a win over Auburn and look okay heading into February.

"''Florida is one of the best teams I've seen in five years,'' Lebo said. ''They have championship experience, they can win on the road. They have answers at every spot.

''They take everybody's best shot in tough environments and they still win.''

Well said by the Auburn coach yesterday.

Yeah you have to figure with all of Fla's top players back from last year that they have a great shot at repeating as Nat'l Champions, and they are showing that they are serious about it. Don't get me wrong, UNC is a great team as well, but they don't have the championship experience that the Gators have.

However you still have to play the games, if you remember when the bald cheater was at UNLV with Larry "Grandmama" Johnson and a bunch of other talented players, they were the odds on favorite to win the whole shebang. They were #1 all season long, the #1 seed, but Duke beat them in a classic final.

But I expect the Gators to get back to the Final 4.
