Great news, Ralph... When everyone complains about the cost of health care they don't always realize that part of that is the research and developement that go into these truly miracle advances in treatments. You might check out that price, though...from what I can tell Enbrel should be $600 - $1000 per month rather than $800 per injection. Still plenty expensive, to be sure.
Ralph, I am so sorry I missed this as an original post. I have to echo those that say you are a pretty amazing guy for maintaining a sense of humor with such obstacles that you have had. God bless you and your family. My grandmother had rheumatoid arthritis and my only memories of her are in bed or in a wheelchair. I am so glad there is a treatment for your son that will allow him to live a more normal life. That is a blessing. I think between that and the scare about your heart the rest is all small potatoes? Anyway Ralph I am sorry about not replying before and it's a lesson for me to pay more attention to the Back Room Forum.
I needed good news today Ralph. Thanks for sharing. I hope everything continues on a better path. Now back to China. ARGH!!!
Ralph, I shared your post with my wife, who is a retired nurse. We know two young ladies, both in their 30s, who have MS. She is not certain but believes that they both take Enbrel. They are leading active and productive lives.
