I see that both Germany and France are now trying to get everyone to wear a N95 MASK. I also saw an article that suggested that we need to go this route in the USA. Cloth masks are deemed ineffective.

Desantis doesn't need any federal assistance with this Covid vaccine program he says..... I guess he has this cluster **** in Florida all by himself. Probably because he can control his self congratulating vaccine roll outs for a few individuals lucky enough to get it in made for TV moments while the rest of us millions of not so lucky over 65 citizens of Florida get left out in the cold.

But we've been told to wear masks. We've been following the science. Are you telling me once again we've been fed ********? Oh well, with Biden in the White House it will be all sunshine and rainbows. So far thousands have died since he took office but what the hell, we won't be hearing much about it anymore.

I signed up here in Lancaster county. It must be Marines running the show because the online reply was one I heard for years in the Corps; Stand By.

They've known cloth masks were "ineffective" since the beginning.
It was always just a feel good move.

I don't think there were any alternatives at the time. Hospitals needed every n95 and surgical mask (ASTM level 3). that they could get their hands on, it's why they shutdown dental offices all over the country, they didn't want us competing for those supplies.

Now production has ramped up so that the public can get them. We'd have likely been better off if we all had been wearing them from the start, but it just wasn't possible

Yesterday Florida announced that the state has surpassed the 1 million mark in vaccinations of those over 65. That's approximately 22% of those over 65 in the state.
As you listen to Dave rant on about Desantis (Trump is gone) consider who he voted for in the last state election.Andrew Gillum found in Miami Beach hotel room with suspected drugs, police say
    "
Andrew Gillum, who in 2018 came within 34,000 votes of becoming Florida’s governor, was discovered by police at a South Beach hotel early Friday morning in a room with bags of possible methamphetamine and in the company of a man who appeared to have overdosed on drugs, according to a Miami Beach police report.

Police say they were called to the Mondrian South Beach early Friday morning and found paramedics treating Travis Dyson, a 30-year-old Miami man, for an apparent heart attack. They say two other men were in the room: Aldo Mejias and Gillum.

Police say Gillum, who was not arrested, was too intoxicated to answer questions. An offense incident report says that officers found three clear plastic baggies of suspected crystal meth on the bed and floor."
That's the kind of human debris that stirs the hearts of the left.

Actually if I remember correctly Dave didn't bother to show up and vote in that election. He just complains about who other people who cared enough to exercise their constitutional right to vote.

Just heard that only 50% of the vaccines sitting here in Florida have been distributed.

So is DeSantis waiting for his next TV op to get these in people's arms?? But he does not need any help from the Feds to get his citizens vaccinated..... no siree..... what an asshole.

While I don't know of course why any state isn't using it's allocation of vaccine. I do know that they have to take into consideration that if they give out X vaccines on week 1, they have to have X vaccines for 2nd shot on Week 3 (pfizer) or Week 4(Moderna). So they have to factor that in so that they don't leave those waiting for their 2nd shot hanging while others are getting their first shot.

Some in Europe have proposed delaying the 2nd shot so that more 1st shots can be given out, but all the data is on a protocol where you get 2 shots either 3 or 4 weeks apart.

It'll be helpful when the J&J vaccine comes available where you get 1 shot and you are done.

Here's a chart kept by the Tampa Tribune about the delivery of the Vaccine. Florida looks like they are doing better than normal.

Then I doubt that Dave looks for real information before throwing out his accusations.

Some day I may understand just why he finds it necessary to always be negative and stir the pot instead of carrying on normal conversations.

I may sound negative because I want the god damn vaccine..... and the CDC today said Florida has only administered 50% of the vaccine that has already been given to the state. Meanwhile DeSantis has turned down any federal offers of assistance to distribute the vaccine in Florida. What about that makes sense especially when DeSantis says Florida has no more vaccine to distribute???
Yeah you damn right I'm negative when what he is doing is playing games and lying about something so important or worse yet he is trying to play mini-Trump and make it a life and death situation about partisan politics. I don't give a damn if Proud Boys is giving the vaccine just get the damn thing in people's arms no matter whose help you accept.

More BS MCG. Look at the table I posted and you will see Florida is actually above the national average in several categories. One which is percentage of residents who have received a shot. I sympathize with your wanting to get the shot but you have a better chance in Florida that many other states.

But you could move to a state that would treat you better I guess, NY, California perhaps.

Florida ranks near the bottom in percentage of available vaccines used at 53%.
With a population of 21 million it will be months before the residents get effectively vaccinated.
I can't see why with all of these doses sitting on the shelf that there shouldn't be a daily minute by minute effort to get them administered and if accepting assistance from the federal government is going to speed that process then what in hell are we waiting for?
