Bill, I am curious as to how much the cable providers are charging customers to carry the SEC Network? Here the B!G Ten Network is carried by some providers as part of a package and others charge $10.00 per month extra.
Don, I think it is pretty much the same. I know about Dish because that is what I have. If you have the 120 channel or above service then it is part of the package. I have it on right now while I am typing this. All a repeat at this point though. I don't really have any information as to what it cost otherwise.
DirecTv: Free as long as you have the Choice package or above. Choice is, I believe, the next to the lowest package they offer. We have ultimate package which is one below the top package.
What I don't know is how much of the country the rules we are talking about for getting SEC Network covers. I do know that I don't get the Big 10 network and would have to buy the sports package to get it. I looked it up and the Big 10 Network is similar to what we talked about above for the SEC Network for 9 states, referred to as the footprint I think. For all the other states you have to buy it. I don't know how far the SEC Network extends for coverage. My search didn't enlighten me.
Hey i also have the Longhorn Network (although right now they are showing a feature on Mia Hamm???)and I can't find it right now but I think I have the PAC 12 network too.
Bill, as far as I know, we don't get the SEC network here in Indiana. At least, I haven't seen any information about it on TV.
Sid, what cable/satallite tv service do you have? And if it's Dish or Direct what level of service? Just curious.
," I think that between now and the start of football season there are going to be a lot of past games played." Past games..... as in at least two years old....
Sid, I know Comcast did sign with SEC network and by the article below it appears to be nationwide but I am not positive. Comcast Signs With SEC Network
Just listened to the Finebaum show for the first time. I can see how some might take exception to the content. This is not a jab at anyone but my memory. I did not pay attention very much toward the end of the year last year. Even if I did, I would not enjoyed the fact that Florida lost their last 7 games. I mention this to say that it was mentioned that with the recent kids released from Notre Dame, they could suffer the same 4-8 season that Florida did last year.
I found it on my Comcast HD channels. I won't be watching Finebaum, but it's nice to know I have another option for my football jones (with apologies to Tom  ).
Interesting Sid. Not that you won't be watching Finebaum but that you do have the Network. I probably won't watch Finebaum either. Only 9 states get the Big 10 network on their package and the others have to pay for a sports package to get it. I would probably watch some if it were available with my base package but won't pay for a sports package to get it. Thanks for the info.
Gotta love this network. Florida's 4-8 season seems so long ago ... we've won 3 national championships since then!
haha well done Wendy! Wait till Dave spots this. Even if you guys lose, he'll just pull up a Tebow game and live in a Xanadu loop till the end of time. I watched Finebaum. I had to see for myself. I've been listening for years, but I heard that you can actually see Phyllis from Mulga and a few other of these long time callers. Here is my concern. This show has always provided an on-ramp to some of the most unstable members of the fan base. By that, I mean these people will transition from callers to TV personalities. When Entertainment television meets mental instability and most likely a rather limited education, you have the recipe for a horrible tragedy. We've all agreed to disagree with me about Alabama's fan base. Regardless of the percentage, whatever it may be, the 'bad' side of their fan base is the worst I've ever seen by far. They've gone from poisoning trees to murder in the last 2 Iron Bowls that Alabama lost. (rather than anyone disputing my contentions) http://blog.al.com/spotnews/2013/12/hoover_police_charge_woman_28.html My point being is not to trash Alabama or their fan base. It's to make the point that I have a serious concern about what these people will be capable of when you start making some of them 'TV famous' At the same time, I love train wrecks so I'll be watching. Charter has SEC TV.
