How long will the improvements take at Olsen? All at once or in phases? That's an impressive looking facility.

I just wish I was going along!

I'm not too worried. The Aggies are on fire right now, and will be a tough team to beat twice.

Looks like Miami has a similar season record to ours. Did you think it was a decent year, or a little disappointing?
My guys had a big slump mid season, and just came out of it a few series ago....

    Terry,

I'm not sure on the time table, but they have almost all the money ready to go, so it's just a matter of picking up the shovels.

    Corey,
Bring it man, I want to WIN. Childress has done very well with our pitching, but the other phases of the game... not so much.
Anybody that can amp up our defense and hitting will be WELCOME!
    :D

Miami and its fans have realized that playing in a conference is just what everyone told us for years it would be...Tough..We started off with the idea of playing small ball for the year and did great but our bats got hot and it seems that we abandoned the small ball attack. Then we got into conference play and have struggled at times with the batting and pitching.

My opinion is that we have talent that can play with anyone out there but we are too inconsistent to win the big dance this year. But what do I know I'm just an ole farmer boy...

    Good luck,

    Ralph

The Gators are hosting a regional and if we win it we would host the super regional against the winner of the regional at Miami.

Corey, let me add that I hope it works out for you.

Is it close to where you live now?

The Aggies hammered FIU 17-3 to start their run in the Miami regional.
(Garrett Wittels did get a hit, and extends his streak to 55)

Miami was also an easy winner over Dartmouth, so now the real fun begins for me and Ralph! 8)

Your guys destroyed FIU Scott, great game....Miami started out great until the lightning delay and then returned with one foot asleep and did their best to put Dartmouth back in the game....I am only going to get to watch the first hour of the game because I promised to take my son to Tampa (2 1/2 hour trip) to a concert....Good luck to ya but I hope ya still lose  :p

And for those interested souls out there the concert is highlighted by "The Reverend Horton Heat & Cracker plus the Legendary Shack Shakers"....I feel very old these days trying to keep up with my sons music...

    Oy!

We got stomped. A guy I trust very much put it this way: "We just didn't even compete!"

We'll take on Dartmouth tomorrow for a chance to regain some pride against Miami.

Gators have won both games and need to win one more to advance to the Super Regional.

Probably Miami will be the opponent for the winner or our regional.

Congratulations to those of you whose college teams are winning!

A major surprise so far has been Minnesota's victory over Cal State Fullerton. The Gophers also dropped New Mexico in a late game last night.

They finished the regular season playing .500 ball, won The Big Ten Tournament and seem to be on a roll.

The Gophers are a nice story.. CSUF has done this before... (lose early then win out) but sooner or later that's going to catch up to them.

Will someone tell me, or please justify (once again) South Carolina's candy ass region while UCLA, UC Irvine and LSU are all in the same Region? W-T-F?

Not so fast there Bill... The Aggies sucked it up and won both games today.
    Rubber match tomorrow with Miami.

Unfortunately, I think we've run out of pitching. I sure hope they have!

    Corey,

I thought the same thing when I saw that region: Who did UCLA piss off??

UCLA made easy work of their bracket of doom.

As predicted, CSUF came all the way from losing the opener to take their region beating Minnesota twice. It's hard for most to fathom, and some may take this as good ole fashioned JOCO boasting, but the Titans have so much baseball talent within a 30 mile radius of their campus that there is NEVER EVER EVER an excuse for them to not go to Omaha... EVER.

    Which brings me to....

The NCAA can go eff themselves.

CSUF wins a bracket with Stanford, New Mexico and a game Gopher squad.
UCLA wins a bracket with LSU, UC Irvine and some other poor SOB that got stuck in that bracket...

And their reward? They get to play each other!!

Meanwhile South Carolina (who went 2 and out in their conference tournament) gets to host a regional with VTech, The Citadel and Bucknell... a bracket they barely survived.. and they get to now play Coastal Carolina who is better than you think.. but they arent a legit national 4 seed like the NCAA would have you believe.

Scott, didn't mean to slight A & M sorry. But Miami does have a track record of winning at home and also going to the CWS.

I wish you good luck tonight but have to also wish Ralph good luck.

Perhaps I should hope for a 30 inning game that depletes both pitching staffs? :)

Not exactly what you asked for Bill, but sorta the same effect.
We'll finish up today due to the weather delay last night.

(I didn't take it as a slight - it's TOUGH to win 2 in a row on the road!)

But by golly, my boys are giving it a run!
    :p
