I do have to say that the Irish at #4 are not really close to the top 3. We have a are a good team but flawed at QB. I do think we are a top 10 team, whether we are #10 or #7 I don't know. Beat Clemson or just play them close in a really good game would solidify us as a top 10 team..

H’s W-L record is comparable to Carr’s or Bo’s after 1978. The difference is, as you say, his record against Ohio and Sparty. Bo lost most of his bowl games but rarely lost to MSU and was solid against OSU. Lloyd beat MSU and OSU regularly until Tressell arrived in Columbus and fan dissatisfaction grew larger each year during Tressell’s mastery of M.

Given H’s huge buyout and the huge economic hole that Covid punctured into UM’s budget, H is no way no how getting fired this year. But his contract ends at the end of the 2021 season and if we lose again to Ohio this year, I would be surprised to see UM offering an extension. Given H’s relationship with the school as a storied alum, however, I also don’t foresee the school kicking him to the curb as it did with RR and Hoke. If he gets to a lame duck status, my sense is H would go back to the NFL or move into an administrative position as Lloyd did although H’s personality really does not seem suited for a desk and schmooze donors job

I figured more was coming when the SEC office reviewed the film. Mullen was fined and several Missouri players were ejected after the film review and will miss the next game in addition to the players ejected at the time.

SEC reprimands Gators' Mullen for role in brawl

Florida Gators coach Dan Mullen has been fined $25,000 and issued a reprimand for violating SEC bylaws governing sportsmanship after a brawl erupted during Saturday's game against Missouri.

"There is no place in college football for the kind of incident that took place at halftime of the Missouri at Florida game Saturday night," SEC commissioner Greg Sankey said Monday in a prepared statement. "Everyone involved is responsible for meeting sportsmanship standards throughout each game. Running on the field to confront a game official, the gathering of teams in an on-field confrontation and student-athletes throwing punches are all disappointing at any time, but even more so as we work to support healthy competition during a pandemic."
