As everyone knows the Irish fired their DCoord several weeks ago and it is assumed that there will be a new DCoord after the season from outside the program. Although that's not written in stone.

Lots of names but this one surprised me, because I don't assoc a DCoord for a Mike Leach coached team as an up and comer, but one of the writers on another site thought this guy is somebody to keep an eye on...an up and comer.

If you steal my DC I am going to be PISSED. I don't know how much deeper my hatred for the horns can be, but I'm willing to venture there is more blackness to discover.

** edit** Ah, jumped the gun there, thought you were writing that he was on top for tu (who also relieved their DC). I still am going to be quite displeased if Grinch goes anywhere.

Va.Tech at Pitt ...After much deep thought and soul searching I'll take Va. Tech.

CAL at USC... USC in a close one.

    Friday

Navy at South Fla. See number one above after much thought and soul searching USF.

    Sat

WVU at OK.State ..OK State wins and knocks WVU out of the NC picture.

Mich at MSU ...Michigan in a laugher.

Penn State at Purde....Penn State stays in the running.

Fla vs Georgia...Ah yes the game of the week for me. We drove all day to Jacksonville and will attend the game tomorrow. Gators win. Go Gators.

Baylor at Texas. I feel really bad for Charlie Strong who I think is a fine man and good coach. But Baylor easily.

Miami at Notre Dame...Notre Dame although I think Mark Right will turn the Miami program around.

Washington at Utah ...Washington continues their march to the Championship series.

    Northwestern at Ohio State...Buckeyes big.

Neb at Wisc... I am going against the tide here and picking Nebraska.

Auburn at Ole Miss...Auburn has it going and wins easily. I am glad we don't play them this year but Alabama should be concerned.

Vols at So.Car ...Vols in a cake walk.

Clemson at FSU ...These two always seem to play close but Clemson has more at stake and will win.

    Washington State at Oregon State....Wazzu

    Bill,
Of course every week is a concern (except this one), but Alabama has LSU to worry about first. The Auburn game is always a serious concern. Like I have said before, anything really can happen in the Auburn game. Both teams are so emotional that weird **** happens all of the time. This Alabama team is opportunistic. If the turnovers, and big plays by the special teams don't happen then both games will be really close.

Navy got down 28 zip right off the bat, you figure they are toast but after that horrible start they got rolling and out scored USF 45-24...but it wasn't enough. Navy QB was really good last night, threw for 299yds and ran for 129yds. Mid's had over 600yds of offense. That awful 1st qtr though was just too much to overcome.

They could end up meeting USF again though in the AAC Championship game.

Speaking of Championship game...the B12 announced they will not split into divisions, that the top 2 teams will play for the title, that makes a lot of sense. Had they split into divisions then the possibility would exist of something other than the best 2 teams meeting for the championship.

Having a champ game for the sake of having a champ game is beyond stupid, but par for the course when you are talikng about the Big XII.

Consider if that was in effect this year and Baylor / WVU are both undefeated til they meet in the last game. Then they get to play again the next week.
So a team wins 'em all then has to win again to get the trophy???
    Whatever...

Kp, there is one thing about being in the position that Alabama is in now, every week there is a target on your back and every team has the week circled that they play Alabama.

However my $$$$ are on you guys.

    Bill,
Very true. Right now, if you beat Alabama it makes your season a success, besides the fact that LSU is an old rival and, well, Auburn is Auburn!

So the B12 was at a disadvantage in that last week of the year when their best team could be sitting home or that a 1 loss 11-1 B12 team would lose out to a 12-1 team from a Conf championship game getting into the playoffs.

As far as rematches, I believe that is possible for all the conferences. I think it was a couple of years ago that there was exactly that in the Pac12 championship game. I think the B12 was smart to go to single division and have the best 2 teams play for the championship. Where in the other conferences the best 2 teams don't necessarily play for the championship.

If the Big12 plays a round robin, what's the point of a championship game?

What will their future marketing slogan be?

"Big12, have you heard about Kansas basketball?"
"Big 12, matchups so bad, we're gonna bring you one of them twice."
"Big12, Texas really does love us. He just gets angry when he drinks."

Wow, West Va. loses, Washington, Ohio State, Louisville, Baylor all struggle to win. A win is a win. Florida beat Georgia but it wasn't really pretty. Michigan had a hard time with State. Gonna be a wild November.

That was a bizzare end to the Baylor/Texas game. Not much time on the clock need to get to FG territory. Seems made to order for a uptempo quick passing game like Baylor has, but a couple of QB runs instead of passing and then big sack fumble that Texas scoops and scores and it's some how overturned and Baylor has a couple of more plays but does nothing.

Could it happen that Charlie Strong will win out and save his job? What will Tom Herman do, be forced to stay at Houston, have to take the LSU job? I think it's possible.

Michigan didn't have the walk in the park that I thought they would and neither did Ohio State. I have to wonder what's happening to the Ohio State offense these last few games. But both won so on to next week.

I did not see Oregon just running all over ASU, I wonder if Todd Graham is starting to feel some heat?

Clemson is looking like they are going hammer FSU.
