Well Kyler Murray looked very good in his first start. He is incredibly quick and he threw the ball very well. A&M defense gave up some big plays I'm sure Scott isn't happy about, but a win is a win.

Didn't see the game but Everett Golson didn't play for FSU, reportedly due to concussion. But the Seminoles didn't seem to miss him at all and granted Syracuse is not a good team, still they beat them soundly.

I wonder if Jimbo will switch QB's or will Everett be back at starter next week.

Depends on whether or not Golson mouthed off to Jimbo on the sideline again this week.

Correction, Longhorns got embarrassed by Iowa State...shut out 24-0. I hope this is rock bottom and we can start the climb back to being respectable.

Did you guys see that last play in the Miami/Duke game? It was Stanford/Cal part deux without the bands on the field. Hurricanes get the win on a crazier play than that one by Mich State.

The national conversation shifts from the end of the M/MSU game to this:

Aggies give up 200 yards on 5 plays.
One of the longest should never have happened.
Clock ran out but refs somehow didn't notice.
And another game in which the left tackle is allowed to WWF Myles Garrett but none of it was holding.
As Terry said: a win is a win...

I'll take the win even though there were more than a few reasons why that kick return should have been called back....Here is just one reason where our receiver is running onto the field with no helmet in celebration before we even scored the TD...

But a win is a win is a win.......And it's been a rough week as a Cane fan

    Ralph,

That last kickoff return was unbelievable! Crazy day with a lot of game ending winners and losers.

Auburn looks lost. Their running game is pretty weak and their WR's can't catch the ball. Bad combination. Ole Miss made their defense look pretty bad also.

Georgia looks lost. Florida played well but Georgia didn't offer much of a challenge.

Notre Dame and Temple played an entertaining game. Temple defense much better than I expected.

Texas just needs to start over.

Bye week was pretty relaxing!!! 8)

Irish weren't the only team who had upset scares.

Michigan got out of Minn alive, Gophers go for it rather than kick the fg and take it to OT. They don't make it.

Sanford barely escaped Wazzu when they missed a FG as the time expired. Wazzu had kicked 5 FG's in that game, red zone frustration.

Houston Cougars and Memphis both cruised last night and remained undefeated. They will play each other and both have tough finishing schedules. Memphis plays Navy, Houston and Temple in the next 3 weeks and Houston has Cincy, Memphis, UConn and finishes with Navy.

Memphis likely will have to beat Temple twice. That's going to be hard to do. But if they do, they'll be in a big bowl and if there is a lot of upsets and they end up being the only undefeated team left, can you leave them out of the playoffs?

Well gip no matter how you slice it an undefeated Memphis could easily be left out of the playoffs. Ole Miss has no chance, even if they win out and win the SEC Championship. There will be too many good 1 loss Power 5 conference teams, the SEC Champ thing won't over come the 2 losses.

LSU, Alabama and Fla are the possible SEC teams. The winner of the LSU Alabama game if they go on to win the SEC Champ game will be in the Playoffs. Book it, and they will have earned it. If the Gators win out and finish as 1 loss SEC Champs they will deserve it as well.

Clemson will deserve it if they win out.

Stanford or Notre Dame winner with 1 loss will deserve it.

Undefeated Baylor or TCU...they're in. But if OU runs the table and finishes with 1 loss they'll have built a tremendous resume.

Ohio State undefeated will be in. Ohio State 1 loss nope, MSU 1 loss nope. The losses will be too late in the season.

Memphis will have a mountain to climb and there will be a lot of media criticism of the playoffs if undefeated Memphis is left out. Drum will beat louder for 8 team playoff.

I was surprised at the success the Gophers had scoring on Michigan. That may not bode well for us the coming Saturday when Minnesota arrives in Columbus.

Hopefully, Cardale will be a little more consistent in his passing and not try to force the ball into multiple coverage?

An article in the Cleveland. com site this morning said he does better coming in as the starter, Time will tell.

I'm sure Minn was playing on a lot of emotion having their coach retire for medical reasons. But regarding Cardale, again I have not watched OSU since the Va.Tech game, but from what I've read is that of late you have been using J.T. in the Red Zone to finish off drives. So Cardale will have to do that, but having Elliot to hand the ball off to makes his job easier.

I guess my question is why was Urban putting JT in the games at that point? Was Cardale having problems finishing off drives?

A couple things occurred that changed the picture in my mind. J.T.'s ankle might not have healed as quickly as they thought. Cardale was having trouble finishing in the red zone. Meyer brought in J.T. and viola things really changed.

Now we are back to square one and I really do not know what to expect. You can not rely on Zeke to run the ball all of the time. We still do not have the talented deep receivers that we had last year.

Still work in progress, but the real question now is does J.T. get back in the rotation? Critical stretch with MSU and Michigan coming up quickly and those two games will control our destiny for this season.

ACC suspends everybody involved in that last play. Of course Miami still wins. I didn't know Miami set a record for penalties in an ACC game with 23! Yikes! To be fair some think the Duke final td never happened, he didn't score.
