Tennessee vs Kentucky this week... big change in the normal season scheduling to play this early. However, the prize is to stay out of the cellar in the SEC East... nothing more.
Dunno about woodstock, but it is a prototypical small college town that gets busy and full on game days, with a normal (hehe) wild party atmosphere for all to enjoy. A lot more laid back and inclusive than the other campuses I've visited.
Not much movement in the Heisman Race. It still seems to be Superman in Baton Rouge who baring injury or a streak of bad games will win. Boykin at TCU will have closing schedule that if he continues to play like he has and TCU wins out...will make the race close. Elliot at Ohio State also is having a great year and another guy who if OSU continues to win and he has some great games against Mich State and Michigan he could catch Fournette. Christian McCaffrey has generated a lot of interest of late with his great play and I won't be surprised if he's invited to New York. I will be surprised though if he wins it this year.
One thing that is not promising for Elliot is that ne needs more touches. Meyer is trying to pacify all of the talent and something has to give at some point.
Having JT as the QB probably reduces his touches over what he gets when Cardale is the QB. BTW: How is Braxton Miller doing in his move to WR. The only time I've seen an OSU game is the Va.Tech game and he had a great game. Has he continued to get a lot of targets at WR?
Terry, Believe it or not, Coach Meyer insists on our wide receivers to be able to block. In this regard Braxton has made great strides. He had a couple amazing catches for 50 yards in the Rutgers game. His just being on the field with his tremendous athletic abilities, forces defenses to make adjustments carefully. Currently he is the number two receiver.
I'm no expert, Terry, but I think that having JT at QB forces the defense to pay more attention to the QB running the ball thus opening things up more for Elliot...reduced touches or not.
TCU got by West Virginia without any problems. The Oregon-Arizona State game was a huge offensive display that the Ducks won in three OTs.
I didn't stay up to watch that game Don, but reading the recap this morning it was really a wild game. ASU out gained Oregon by almost 250yds and lost. This was another throw back game from the '90s where they draw up plays in the huddle.
Terry, I only watched some of the third quarter and that was about 12:30 this morning. Way past my bedtime, but I watched a replay this morning.
Terry, Just read that a moment ago. He has been suspended for the Minnesota game next week. I hate these by weeks, always seems like someone gets in trouble. J.T. would have never been on that list and I am shocked as well!
